Walmart parking lots are the worst. I don't know what it is about them but I've seen more fender benders, sideswipes, keyings, and parking lot rage there than anywhere else.
I hate Walmart, but have to shop there because it's the only grocery store within reasonable distance of my house. Hopefully I won't live here much longer.
May I suggest looking into the WalMart+ program? It's like $15/mo and you get free delivery, including next-day grocery orders. If you're fortunate enough to be able to afford the Amex Platinum card, paying for the monthly sub fee is one of the benefits.
I think the Game Pass comes with a free 2 or 3 month trial, too.
Their website takes some getting use to, but of the various online grocery shopping websites, theirs is legitimately one of the better ones.
This happened to my 1965 ford thunderbird. A giant dent over the whole body panel. Previously pristine original panel. No note or anything. People are horrible.
Happened to me at an airport parking lot. Parked pretty far away but someone put a boot into the door. I was trying to sell that car too. Ended up selling it to Carvana and they didn’t care.
I feel you guys, 100%, but you never know. Maybe it was someone’s grandmother who was picking up meds for her husband of 54 years who was just told he has cancer and she was distraught and wasn’t paying attention. While this is not excusable, it changes the context. Also, perhaps they were just an ass and knew exactly what they did. We’ll never know, but I do know that ppl who make bad decisions tend to encounter bad outcomes more often.
We also got sideswiped last weekend. Tried to file a police report and they didn’t seem eager to find out who did it. Just doing paperwork for insurance so that my rates can go up later
Had something like this happen when I was an actual employee at sam's club years ago. They couldn't find it on camera because the camera didn't cover the whole lot and was terrible quality...
I run a dash cam with the parking monitor. My neighbor runs a construction company and one of his workers hit my car when it was parked. I was able to tell him and his insurance covered it. With the monitoring on the dashcam, I highly recommend a shutoff harness if you notice the battery monitor drains your battery.
Some people have no conscience, I'm sorry OP. Whilst it's frustrating at the time, I found the first scratches on my car to be quite liberating after a while as I no longer felt so concerned about messing up my perfect paintwork!
I know the feeling. I have been holding onto my dads monstrosity of a truck for him (long story), and it hardly ever leaves my driveway (im talking once every ~2 weeks to keep it from seizing or getting wear from just sitting in the same spot). Woke up yesterday to a big old scratch down the side. I haven't moved in at least a week, so I am baffled that someone would just walk up a driveway and scratch someones vehicle.
Damn that sucks. I always purposefully try and park as far away from everyone else as I can for this reason, yet someone will always park next to me. OP, definitely see if they have any CCTV, worth a shot.
