What about not killing him even though he has a really cool coat
Okay let's not go overboard here.
I'll be 75 and still killing maxson for the coat alone (also because the synth genocide but... You know.... coat)
What if you let him live because you know finishing his questline is a far crueler fate?

Only killed for the item so I could read more lore. Ic the game didn't want me to do that then there would have been a dialog option to describe.
