The U.S. attorney’s office said prosecutors have uncovered additional criminal conduct ahead of the mayor's trial in April.
Adams, 64, was charged in September with five criminal counts, including bribery, conspiracy to commit wire fraud and solicitation of a contribution by a foreign national.
In court documents filed Monday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York said that “law enforcement has continued to identify additional individuals involved in Adams’s conduct, and to uncover additional criminal conduct by Adams,” as part of the ongoing investigation.
Trump constantly rails against librul cities (he seems to especially hate Chicago for some reason); my gut feeling is that he would want to have the mayor of NYC in his pocket. Having charges dismissed--particularly if it was done without prejudice--would mean that he would effectively own Adams.
There should be an agency to hunt out honest, non-criminal politicians, they’re so rare. They could be awarded a badge to sew onto their swimming cossie or something.
