what's a good present for some friendly nurses who taught me little tricks to work better before I leave the hospital I'm working at?
most of the nurses I work with, I don't care about them, but there are five that for whatever reason took an interest to teach me several little tricks that make my job run smoother.
Before I leave the unit and hospital, I'd like to give each one of them a small token of appreciation.
All of them are women, 2 of them are married, this is in no way whatsoever romantic.
i was thinking pastries but not for the whole unit, but for each of them.
Another option would be a flower for each one of them.
I don't know them that well personally, because I'm on the introverted side and like to separate my private life from my workplace.
Yeah, this. It would be tasteful to get a gift card to any local coffee shop, or Target, or one of those $20 Visa gift cards, though they have like a $5 overhead just to activate them.
Homemade pastries are a bit weird if you don't know someone that well, and store-bought pastries are hard if you don't know what they like.
If you're in the US go to the bank and get a roll of gold dollar coins. Then go to a hobby shop and get some draw string bags, the kind Robin Hood would carry.
I'm pretty sure no one has ever given any of them a bag of gold coins before.
Some banks have them, some don’t. It depends on what’s in stock that day. Tried to ask for a stack of US$2 bills once and they told me I’d need to place an order for US$10,000 in order to get them in because they don’t keep them stocked.
Dollar coins haven't been popular in the US for a long time. Same with fifty cent pieces. If you ask for a roll of dollar coins you'll get a bunch of silver colored ones in with the gold ones. The last time I did it it took a couple of trips, but my buddy really liked it. He's into fantasy.
A personalized thank-you card/note, for sure... telling them you appreciate their help and how it has helped you grow and/or become better at what you do. Doesn't have to be long, just a quick thank you
For a small token: a fun badge reel is usually always welcome. Maybe a very tiny gift bag with a keychain-sharpie, a badge reel, keychain (tiny) flashlight. Things nurses always use and appreciate, not very expensive. Coffee gift card is normally always welcome too, but can be a little more expensive, depending on your budget
