They were a joke anyway. We would always get a shipping box from Amazon, ten times the size of whatever we ordered with maybe one of these ‘plastic pillows’ thrown in for protection - just bouncing around. It was such a joke.
They would never put enough in to protect the item or pick a carton to be a closer size.
I had the opposite problem. There would be 9 miles of that shit in a package and my item would still be broken in the bottom of the box. My cat loved it though.
Never understood that. Put the item directly against a part of the box that can still be damaged. I mean I understand it’s easier to toss in an item and cover it up rather than wrapping it but still. You want the item closer to the middle of the box
Many items are already packaged to protect them from damage in transit. If it's already in a box with Styrofoam inserts, there isn't as much value on wrapping it again.
That said, there are countless items at Amazon that are not protected like that. Amazon also won't pay their employees enough to care, nor give them the time to make any such decisions.
Yeah, when I saw this headline my first thought is "aww, my dog loved it when I got an Amazon package because she got to destroy all those balloon things for me."
I don't understand their logic if there is any. They would send a $10 SD card in a box the size of a duffel bag filled with airbags and paper, but another time they'll send a $1000 computer part in its retail packaging
