White House names Bezalel Smotrich as obstacle to ceasefire deal, says he is ‘jeopardizing’ hostage lives
Sharp words targeting an Israeli right-wing leader reflect how deeply invested President Biden is in talks taking place next week to wrap up a ceasefire-for hostages deal.
“Some critics, like Mr. Smotrich, for example, have claimed that the hostage deals are a surrender to Hamas or that hostages should not be exchanged for prisoners. Mr. Smotrich essentially suggests that the war ought to go on indefinitely without pause and with the lives of the hostages of no real concern at all.”

It's not just one person. Enough people in the Knesset are okay with it too, because they haven't shut him down. He's just the most extreme.
Unfortunately, it's not just him. Netanyahu, for example, has also been cited as an obstacle to serious hostage negotiations, even by members of his own government.
Because the plan all along was to allow october 7th to happen to give then a cassus belli to erradicate the gaza strip. Its not erradicated enough yet to alow them to make bank rebuilding it for israelis. The hostages are pawns for them, and if they get them back they lose their pretext for the take over and destruction.
It's not. Israel is doing it almost unanynously.
But it's an easy out for the white house to pretend it is.
Don't even have to read all of this dumbass article. You can't blame one politician in Israel for stopping a ceasefire. As the USA, we supply the weapons, we supply the money. Cut that off and the war stops. Israel cannot genocide without US support, it is literally impossible. This is the USA committing a genocide that they can stop at literally any time.

I name Joe Biden the biggest obstacle to a hostage deal. If he stopped giving israel weapons for Genocide this would be over months ago.
The US and the Israeli governments in full are totally responsible for this genocide, and the Israeli government was totally responsible for the 7th of October because of 70 odd years of segregation and apartheid and stealing from the Palestinian people.
