No offense, but just because someone fought against Hitler, doesn’t guarantee that they would vote against the Republican Party. My mom’s dad fought in the Army during WW2. He loved to give my older sister lectures about how she shouldn’t date any immigrants that weren’t European, and told her never to date other races. My mom was surprised by his lecture (it happened out of nowhere at a family dinner). She asked, “what about _____ (me)?” He looked at me, and then muttered something about blood types and how it didn’t matter who I dated. I guess he wanted to share with us that he didn’t want my older sister making babies for other races. Most of the countries he named in his list of “don’t date these people” were countries that were not our ally in WW2, so I can understand his concerns about my older sister ever dating their citizens. Good ol’ grandpa! 🤷♀️
