The Daily Check In For Monday May 20th - Just For Today, We Are NOT Drinking!
Good morning, fellow sobernauts, IWNDWYT đ!
We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but weâre here together!
Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! Iâm pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.
Maybe youâre new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe youâre like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe youâve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.
It doesnât matter if youâre still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, letâs not drink alcohol!
Got a decent amount of stuff done this weekend, not everything I wanted, but most of it which would not have happened if i was drinking. I will continue that and not drink with you guys today. Looking forward to the three day weekend and my wedding anniversary this next week!
24 hours. I can do this. My biggest struggle is passing the liquor store on the way home. I admitted it and my spouse is going to be on the phone with me for that drive everyday it's feasible. I need to break this habit. Good luck to everyone.
That particular one, sure, but to not go by one at all would nearly double my commute and I already cut it close to make it home for the kid's bedtime. And truthfully, the temptation mostly comes from knowing I could get away with the secret stopping. That's why I asked her to be on the phone with me.
I'm a proud new dad as of last week and I'm also proud to say that she gets to know sober dad. My motivation is still internal but she's given me another awesome reason to be the best version of myself. Day 629, IWNDWYT.
