By repealing President Lyndon Johnson’s 1965 executive order (EO) banning racial discrimination in hiring for the federal government, Donald Trump has proudly proclaimed his intention of Making America White Again, at least with regard to political power and economic opportunity.Another EO Trump sig...
But if those people are the focus of your ire and not the administration or those that voted for him, your giving the actual villains a hell of a pass.
People will turn out for Democrats when they abandon neoliberalism. If they'd rather support big corpo to the world's end, then we'll never get a vote in the right direction until collapse.
Oh, most of my bile is reserved for donvict and the redhatters, make no mistake. But the Enlightened Centrists (TM) and the maximalist so-called "leftists" surely didn't help matters.
Claiming that Kamala and donvict would have been the same on Gaza, so sitting out or making a protest vote, or worse, just outright voting for donvict because they think - on that one issue only - that they'd be the same is just mind boggling in its absurdity. They are quite obviously not the same on nearly every other issue, several of which will cause real, lasting damage to millions of Americans now that donvict was able to slither back into office.
Kamala certainly wasn't going to empower and enable militias looking to do actual violence, as a for instance. But yeah, these people bleating about how they are the same, and hey, I didn't want to vote for genocide are just insufferable.
Honestly, I think a lot of that was a Russian psy op. We all know Russian trolls have been stirring up the far right to stir up unrest, it stands to reason they'd do the same on the far left too (like the soviets funding both neo-nazis and communists in the 60s).
Plus, "vote for the guy who wants to genocide harder as a protest against genocide" was always a questionable line of reasoning.
Oh, I 100% agree. And maybe not just Russia, but other foreign enemies (and so-called "allies" like Israel) would benefit a lot from sowing division and installing a complete dipshit like donvict.
That would be a questionable line of reasoning. Which is why it's so puzzling that Blue Maga chose that as their main accusation against genocide protestors.
I haven’t fallen for shit. And it’s weird that you say they don’t exist when the comment section of this post, and pretty much any political post or meme has chummed the water well enough to cause a frenzy.
I don’t think we are having the same conversation here bud. Maybe take a step back, collect your thoughts and come back when you think you can swing within the wheelhouse, cool?
Same. All I see is weak copium and "told you so" type of nonsense that makes zero sense given the consequences of donvict getting into office and their irresponsible and reckless bOtHsIdEs take on it. Lecturing the Democratic Party and the DNC, calling everyone that understands the stakes a "shill", and whining about blaming voters (which I very much do, sorry, not sorry) is not going to make their case at all.
We had two choices. Those were the only realistic choices. Wishcasting about a viable third party when it comes down to the general election is a fool's errand.
It’s because they live in a bubble where perfect is the only recourse to fix broken. I’ve been saying it since I’ve had the unfortunate experience in dealing with them-
These people NEED to understand nuance. And their refusal to even try will cost a some their freedoms, and others- their lives.
But you cannot humble children. And sadly, we have to share their folly.
The thing about their attitude is that I vividly remember my early teens as well and can sort of identify with their head canon for a moment.
But then reality sets in and I remember how the world really works: stomping your foot and wishcasting into existence some perfectly progressive third party that everyone will vote for instead of the Democrats and Republicans sounds really great, but just is not going to happen, at least not in the months right after a primary and before the general.
Also, putting someone like donvict into power will not "teach a lesson" to everyone else. I really do think that these people imagine the world is just standing buy, pencil and notebook in hand, waiting to be instructed by the Democrats losing and the so-called "leftist" that is running around lecturing everyone about it. Lastly, when they lose and some of them then declare that the world should just burn because they didn't get their way and the DNC wasn't taking instruction from them, I find out what kind of pathology we are really dealing with...
They’re incredibly entitled and think that everyone else should believe in their single issue protest and that it is worth sacrificing systemically marginalized people and giving up the freedoms of others- all to protect people in a country most of them weren’t even aware existed two years ago.
They fucked up. BADLY. And just like those they blindly helped usher into power, they are too stubborn to ever admit it.
Ignorance and Cowardice: the perfect one-two combination to erase the two most stubborn side-effects of being a human being: shame and humility.
Yeah, in some ways they are worse than donvict voters - at least right now some of those people seem to be waking up and whining "I didn't vote for this" as the leopards eat their faces because they are extremely low-info about how things work and lack systems-style thinking. And it may be that at least some of them will have learned something from voting for the likes of donvict.
Meanwhile, on the faux leftist side of things, they generally are more aware of the consequences of what donvict actually ran on (and the goblins around him will actually do), and yet, they suffer from just enough Dunning-Kruger in the morality department to still be proud that they "didn't vote for genocide" (JFC) and are actually taunting others for being "shills" and other silly claims.
Still love that you guys show up on every single post, shilling the idea that the DNC wasn't wrong, the voters were. The DNC was told, many times what they needed to do.
I don’t see anyone saying the DNC wasn’t wrong. So, how about we put that little straw man away before someone hurts themselves on it.
What I DO see however, are people who once cried and screamed at everyone prior to the election- that because of [Insert bOtH SiDeS Rhetoric here], everyone should vote for third party clowns. Clowns that have not EVER been proven to have any viable roadmap to end the hostilities, nor have any experience whatsoever in negotiating political discourse.
Essentially, a handful of untested randoms with no resumes- and we’re all supposed to just switch focus and buy into that bullshit because a bunch of arrogant, smug kids online yelled at us?
And now? Yeah. We DO get to call them out. That’s how it works when people talk shit about things they know nothing about and are proven to have been wrong in the face of SO many people that warned them of the damages their ignorance will cause. That is what we are owed for trying to get them to do the right thing and stand in the way of a fascist dictator.
So it’s good that you love it. Because I don’t see it stopping anytime soon.
Oh, so more we're just blaming the voters for not showing up for [redacted]?
Or do you not understand what a protest vote is?
They weren't wrong, they weren't dumb. They just don't believe a Trump presidency is going to be materially different on any of the issues presented. The cost of living is still going to be shit, we're still going to set a new record in deportations, we're still going to be toothless to Putin and Netanyahu, we're still going to leave red state LGBTQ people undefended, and we're still going to subsidize the wealthy at the expense of everyone else.
Until the DNC understands that these are the issues they will continue to lose because blue voters don't vote like it's a religion.
That's not what game theory is. It's a mathematical model to predict a stakeholder's behavior. It is not strategic voting.
If you're going to tell people to get educated please at least be educated yourself. Also game theory is highly contentious specifically because it requires making the same assumptions that a career analyst would have to make, just to have a starting point. So a lot of the models out there are under the, "bad data in, bad data out" category.
Where is your red line personally? How bad would a Democrat have to be before you would refuse to vote for them? Would you vote for a Democrat that was promising to exterminate 10 million Americans, if their Republican opponent was promising to exterminate 20 million Americans?
Where exactly is your red line, or do you simply not have one?
I did sell my soul and vote for Kamala. And what did it get me? In response, the Democrats voted for the first anti-LGBT hate bill in 30 years.
I voted for Kamala, but I also despise this cult-like idea of blind faith in the Democrats and the absolute refusal to hold them accountable for anything.
And your question is simply nonsensical. Just completely nonsensical. Progressives voted for plenty of people to defeat Trump. Millions of people voted for their own Democratic Congress members but then didn't cast a vote for Kamala. She vastly underperformed Congressional Democrats.
If voting for -10m vs -20m would net -10m? For fucks sake yes. By not voting for the lesser we have gained the greater of evils, so hey yay shit didn't change for any better! Fuck all protest votes when it's goddamn black and white worse.
It's only "demonic" if voting is the only action you take to flight fascism. The reason to vote for the lesser evil, IMHO, is that the less evil option tends to be easier to fight.
