Their content was pretty bad. This was a long time coming.
I didn't even know it was still around. I thought all those websites shut down years ago, apparently not though: Kotaku still seems to be around.
I assumed the Hulk Hogan / Peter Thiel lawsuit killed em all, but guess they held on
It killed Gawker, their parent company
They were bought by someone else in 2019, but couldn't recover
Yeah, that's what I thought too.
Several Kotaku writers quit and launched their own operation recently, named Aftermath.
And the Deadspin folks have Defector, while Jalopnik writers have The Autopian. All worthy of your clicks and dollars.
