After a 15-Month Figma and Adobe Withdraw Proposed Acquisition After Regulatory Hurdles
  • AI-butchered headlines are my favorite headlines. After a while of baker and bread baking the bread after fifteen minutes. And how!

  • I'm not sure they updated the APK you can download from their site. I just updated using that, and I still don't have a photo backup option.

  • What is a TV show that was one of your favourites, but just went on for far too long?
  • So tolerant and accepting! I bet there'll be extra cookies for you at the end.

  • Yeah, I'm not against spending money on audio equipment, but the vast majority of that money should go towards good speakers and headphones rather than things that don't make a difference. Not because it bothers me, because who am I, but because people would get more out of their money that way.

I really respect your edit, by the way. Rock on. And the DAC thing we can just disagree on and still be friends. With even a moderately decent sample rate, the DACs job is trivial, and it really makes no difference. If you can hear a difference, it's because one of the DACs is either doing something more than being a DAC or is broken and polluting the output.

  • Recommended linux variant for gaming.
  • It doesn't matter what distro you use. I use openSUSE Tumbleweed. Never had an issue running anything. Would not have an issue on other distros either. Use Debian if you like it. Install Steam and Lutris as flatpaks. Job done.

  • Parent lawsuit demands right to ask teachers to display “straight pride” flags in Denver schools
  • Regardless of the wording of the actual lawsuit, which is moronic, I don't think the discrimination aspect is relevant. Everyone should have a right to do the same things. If we exclude these idiots from displaying the flags they want to display, are we any better than them?

  • Beloved Steam roguelike “will add sex” after hitting major milestone
  • I was on a great gaming platform loved by many the other day and loaded up a beloved roguelike once named game of the year by six separate magazines, but after I played for a while, I felt like playing a time-tested MMORPG seen by many throughout the years as the "one to beat", so I switched to a smaller, company-specific game launcher known to be plagued by ads masquerading as news and started playing.

  • I deleted my Amazon account and swore never to order from them again, and so far that's been a effortless affair. Using smaller vendors and bookstores on principle makes me happy. I deleted my Microsoft account as well, but since I don't use Windows that was really more of a formality than anything else. Google I stopped using and am never signed in to, but I haven't deleted the account I opened in 2004, and I still fetch mail from it. I cleared all information from it that I could, and that'll have to be good enough for now. When it goes a year without receiving a meaningful message I will consider getting rid of it entirely.

  • Ubisoft blames “technical error” for showing pop-up ads in Assassin’s Creed
  • What makes me really sad is that this is very obviously a sort of testing of the waters, and in a short while this will become the standard in triple A games, but people will still fucking buy them, and then that'll be the world we live in. Happens every single time.
