  • only praxis western maoists are able to achieve

  • How do you study theory?
  • Best method for studying is writing little tests for yourself and trying to recall your lectures just like you would do in university/school. Obviously this isn't always possible due to time, so the best method I found for studying is writing down notes on a special theory notebook while I read, highlighting sections and uploading quotes to bookwyrm.

There was a method I learned when I studied History which I haven't tried with theory yet, using reading cards in which you write a synthetic version of the main arguments of a book or section you want to study.

I've been reading Lukacs recently and philosophy not being my strongsuit I've found that listening to lectures or video essays that deal with the subject are great for strengthening what i've already read trough.

  • which european countries do you think hold revolutionary potential?
  • I'm curious on why are your reasons you think Hungary has revolutionary potential.

  • which european countries do you think hold revolutionary potential?
  • Greece, maybe? Depends on what you mean by revolutionary potential. NATO is a stop to anything decent but i'm not european lol

  • Leftist Alt-tech websites
  • If its any comfort, the alternative boards to /siberia/ and /leftypol/ are usually not that shit. Otherwise I agree leftypol is unbearable at times.

  • Recommended resources RE the Russian civil war and the white army?
  • Yea, I don't really like recommending massive books no matter how readable they are, but I don't think a subject matter as massive as the 1917 revolution or the civil war can be consumed that lightly. And as far as I know most Youtube documentaries or essays are not that good.

  • The Brazilian Communist Party is splitting
  • Good, comrade. Greetings from the new Communist Party of Argentina, we've also been expelled from our parent organization and are working towards the reconstruction of the party along revolutionary lines. Tell me, what was the nature of the split? I haven't had the time to read the articles on Em Defensa do Comunismo

  • Recommended resources RE the Russian civil war and the white army?
  • Late answer, I know - but Ten Years that Shook the World is a great outlook on the period, even if it's from a non-marxist perspective. Otherwise I'd check out Mike Duncan's coverage of the revolution on his podcast, altough he takes a very liberal turn at the end.

  • Socialist revolution in Greece
  • Way I see it, there's no chance for a revolution in Greece unless the TKP brings forth a favourable political climate in Turkey. And that's only if the rest of NATO is not willing to intervene. For now, comrades in Greece are stuck in the decades where nothing happens - but they are doing wonderful work. I wholeheartedly support them.

  • BadEmpanada's views on BayArea415 (and why he's a complete fraud)
  • Badempanada lives in Argentina, right? His content seems pretty mid all things considered even for streamer's standards.

  • En Latinoamérica? Generalmente un desastre, con algunos faros de lucha muy piolas dando vueltas por ahí. Depende si estamos hablando de la izquierda en general o del movimiento comunista.

    Repatriation (2003), Dong-won Kim

"In the spring of 1992 documentary filmmaker Dong-won Kim met Cho Chang-son and Kim Seak-hyoung, two North Koreans arrested by South Korean authorities years before. Convicted of spying for the North, they were incarcerated and spent thirty years as political prisoners. These men, and many others like them, underwent conversion schemes in prison that involved torture: those who renounced their communist beliefs were released from prison early. The others, known as "the unconverted," served their full terms. None could return home to the North, however, until the turn of this century, when tensions between North and South eased significantly. Director Dong-won Kim followed these men for ten years, documenting how they survived — both physically and psychologically — the dehumanizing time spent in prison, and their quest, once released, to finally go home."

What are some non-ML movements (past and present) that you guys strongly support?
  • The PSUV literally wants to either outright prohibit or coopt the PCV. Can't believe people here are defending the PSUV. https://youtu.be/BMpyyxo6gMA

Anyone know of a good place to download Touhou doujin circle music?

I'm not referring to the music from the official games, obviously. Those are easy enough to find. I've been trying to find relatively updated forums/blogs where download links for this music is shared. I'll start dumping some of these blogs I find, and if you know any of them, feel free to share!
