What CLI apps you use to do common tasks like editing (pdf, audio, video, image) files.
  • For audio files sox and beets are my live saver.

  • Microsoft Launcher crashed on my phone, erased all my settings and won't start again. What launcher are you using and why do you recommend it?
  • If you are open for something very goid but a little different take a look at the fabulous Niagara Launcher.

  • Introducing Lemmy.link
  • Great idea and project!

I am afraid you already have a bot problem.

  • That Computer Scientist - Nix is the New Arch!
  • Fun fact: I use NixOS since six years now and at least in the first two years the Arch Wiki helped me a lot to understand the NixOS configuration options.

  • Music that is good for working

When working, I see that some people create a space for themselves by wearing headphones and listening to music so they don't get distracted.

Do you guys feel the same way and if so, what tracks or mixes are you recommending?

    Are DJ mixes welcome?

Is here a good place for sharing DJ mixes or sets? Are there any rules against self promotion?

On my search I did not find any community for this purpose yet. Is there any community anyone can recommend for this?

Buy anything on Bandcamp today to support with 100% of the sales the NAACP

While today's campaign for #Juneteenth, Bandcamp is donating 100% of their share of music sales to the #NAACP Legal Defense Fund > to promote racial justice through litigation, advocacy, and public education.

What do you all use for password management?
  • As far as I know only through either bw-cli or rbw providing passwords for the regular ssh-agent. I do not know about any implementation in Bitwarden yet.

  • I've really liked using onenote, but would like a FOSS alternative if there is one that replicates the experience. I don't need any syncing abilities, since I prefer to store locally.
  • Nice, thank you for this recommendation! I am looking for an OpenSource replacement for Obsidian. Just miss a mobile app here.

  • After self-hosting my email for twenty-three years I have thrown in the towel. The oligopoly has won.
  • Agree completely.

In my eyes the features that make email successful are the decentralization, that it is not a product of a company, the wide client support and that can be used offline.

The successor should have equivalent features.

  • Is it possible to migrate to another instance

I wonder if it is possible to move my own account to another Lemmy and take all content with me?
