Interested too, the 3800k tint mix has been in my aliex basket for longer than I can remember
Having broadened my horizons beyond Convoy, trying out my first Hank (D1v2 which disappointed me) grabbing some Lumintops (the FW21s which really impressed me), the odd Sofirn (SC32), a couple Wurkkos (TS10, HD15R etc); I always resolve that Convoy are the absolute best balance of value, DIY-ability and performance. If only Simon were to sell a few more enthusiast-desired items (like these new drivers), smooth body exotic metal parts, 18500 tubes, spare pills, spacers, etc.
I would highly recommend it! I just upgraded my s2+ triple with this driver and a Kaidomain 519a DD 3500k. It’s a wonderful thing.
It’s incredible. At this level you already are a flashlight manufacturer. Someone else just makes your hosts 😅
Dang the left one reminds me of Sauron’s helmet. Looks wild.
Mine love the Ledlenser kidbeam4 (I use nimh), it has high white, low, RGB and police strobe. Sometimes like to play with an AA minimag.
Thanks for the reply, that’s very interesting! I must confess I didn’t realise they all contained copper. So those examples, and the box text imply these lights are a ‘red’ variant of bronze?
I’m no metallurgist but I’d say the material/finish is very close to regular copper pipe.
My brass one did say ‘Yellow Metal’ too @antisuck.
2nd batch Copper TS10
Those folks at Wurkkos don’t hang around. 7 days after ordering and 6 from dispatch, to the UK. I also got the free holster as part of the Father’s Day promo, although it’s too large for the TS10 - I’ll find a use for it! The longer, black clip came too.
Red AUX 3000k Orange, 4000k I think the red looks superb against the copper. !
Yes you did say weight initially but I figured most of it was in the body! And I guess in time there is a risk of that (I was thinking brass/copper from my own collection as they are compatible)
Wow thanks for the write up. It’s turned out fantastic and I’d love to recreate it
And you straightened the bend? Or the TS25 one and you cut it? Either way the colouring looks fine!
Late to the party but having ordered the new copper ts10 and already owning brass, my first thought was why not only swap the head? Brass head on aluminium body would look interesting.
I was of this opinion and voted restricted mode in the previous poll, but this time I think I would opt to leave it open.
Let the communities diverge. Hand the keys back and let the individuals reside wherever they choose. There is already a community here. Yes there is a wealth of information on Reddit, especially regarding build options and comparisons but why not ask the question again on Lemmy and get a more up-to-date, fresh opinion? If it’s modding or technical info BLF is the archive.
Just my two pence.
I mean if anyone wants to make dedicated copper s2 triple spacers for the UK, or some cool c/flashlight patches and stickers I will be alllllll over it
Love those shots, the 3rd image looks like a cell under a microscope or something
Experience like this is why this community rocks. Intrigued by Adair21’s answer, I read around the web to understand better - I didn’t realise there could be so much tolerance in LED forward voltages!
As a result, when in parallel/at the same drive voltage, different currents drawn = different relative brightness. Outside of independent resistors, you’d need to get lucky with matched emitter tolerances or just run above moonlight so that the difference is less noticeable.
Maybe it’s a reflection of the cost of the KD boards?
Any addition to the TS10 family is going to be well received, especially these ideas
Is there any plan to port some information over such as popular emitters / buying guides? Also, is it possible to have it quickly accessible in the sidebar (kind of mimicking the ‘About’ section of our Reddit?) it looks like posts can be favourited/saved. I’m still learning the ropes here so apologies if I’m missing it.
Triple trouble - emitters not equally bright
Hi All,
I recently built my first 2x S2+ triples with KD SST20 MCPCBs and Convoy 5A drivers. On one of them I noticed, when at 1%, 1 emitter is noticeably dimmer than the other 2. My second triple I changed the sense resistor to provide slightly more amps and that one is fine.
Anyone experienced this? Could it be a bad mcpcb, driver/level issue?
