  • Sorry, I’m still learning how to be an effective member of our community… you’re right; it’s good that this hilarious green text is shared via multiple channels :)

  • Nobody is going to care if you write "he said" more than once in a row.
  • I actually think this makes for smoother reading versus the alternative of “he remarked”; “he snorted”; “he pronounced”; etc. Those phrases have their place but I think keeping it simple helps me make sure the line of dialogue itself conveys the tone of the speaker.

  • Keen take, I totally agree.

    He hasn’t been having much success expanding his base, and this article points out that it’s because he’s playing up key conservative issues to capture one audience, while also aiming for moderates. There’s just a contradiction there.

    What’s something kind someone has done for you that you revisit?

    A stranger once shared food with me and talked me down from fear when a snow squall stranded us at the peak of a hike. I think often about this person’s willingness to help and how it completely transformed that experience.
