Czech President Petr Pavel says Russian citizens living in the West should be put under “strict surveillance”
  • I think the main thing to understand is that these have been the actions of the Russian government, not necessarily individual Russian citizens. This seems like overkill to me.

To be clear, in no way am I giving Russia a free pass, obviously what they've done is reprehensible; I just know that there are a lot of Russian citizens who would also agree with that statement.

  • Damnit, it's been years! How could you...

  • Am i missing out if I dont use an IDE?
  • There's a lot of value in using an IDE, from just general formatting stuff to being able to tell what class functions do without having to dig into the class itself. Not to mention autocomplete.

There's lots of free solutions out there now, so if you're curious I'd give it a shot. I think you'll find once you start using one it'll be hard to go back to just a plain text editor.

I like vs code a lot, if you're looking for specific recommendations. It's lightweight and can be upgraded to do pretty much anything via extensions.

  • Must have commandline tools?
  • I mentioned this in another post, but tmux is awesome

  • Workers are historically stressed out and disengaged
  • Kinda hard not to be when most people never expect anything good to ever happen again.

  • Most anticipated mod/mod update?
  • If you've ever played Myst, which was a point and click puzzle game from the late 80's early 90's, it basically adds the mechanics of that world into the game. The main thing is writing books that describe places that you can actually visit like a pocket dimension.

  • Oh my God I knew I did it before somehow! I was starting to think I just imagined it because the button was never there again. So helpful, thank you!

  • What are your go-to tools?
  • Kinda new to the whole sysadmin thing, but tmux has been an absolute game changer for me. No more remote desktop for long running processes, I can just do everything from ssh.

  • wait explain what is 195 and 196???
  • The main thing about them is that the rule of those communities is that you must post something before you leave, could be anything which is why it seems so random.

  • What was your first distribution?
  • My first distro was Manjaro. It was really cool, but also I remember having some trouble getting things to work on it without super extensive troubleshooting.

  • Also, I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this issue, but I had to comment on the website, couldn't do it on the mobile app. Something about language not allowed or something. Very odd

  • I personally like AE2 more. It's fun to work with the bandwidth of the 32 channels and plan the network carefully

  • If you haven't seen it, Curseforge put out some detection tools in response to the recent malware discovery.
  • I'd argue that they actually responded to this quickly and appropriately. They didn't try to sweep anything under the rug and provided tools to see if you're affected.

  • What's a tankie?

  • Some of the builds on our community's server so far!
  • That's pretty cool, what version are you guys running?

  • What if Reddit reverts it's changes?
  • Same here. I've already posted more comments and posts in my short time here than I ever did on reddit. It feels a lot more interactive and I like it.
