Petition: Defederate from exploding-heads.com
  • I am against defederations being decided by instance admins. Lemmy needs (kbin being more mature project at least has domain blocking) tools to let users decide themselves what they want or don't want to see. Are you an adult or you need others to decide for you? I have blocked lemmygrad and other tankie/nazi (same shit) instances (domains) myself. If I don't want to see eg. transgender stuff then I don't cry about it but just block it. Grow a pair and do the same.

  • Reddit API fee protests push into third week
  • I don't really get what protesters wants to achieve now but only a moron would go back even if they announced that there won't be any API changes, knowing what shit CEO of that shit company thinks about them. Stockholm syndrome is strong in these people.

  • Is there a food that is cheap, delicious and healthy at the same time?
  • Flour used to make pizza dough is very low in fiber as well as results with high spikes in blood sugar as carbs it contains are absorbed in a very short time. Pasta (when prepared properly) is way better in that regard but it's still far from perfect.

  • Russia must pay to rebuild Ukraine, says Germany
  • No one will force them to do so just like no one will force Germany to pay the reparations to Poland. These demands although rightful are used mostly as a political tool. While for Ukraine such stance is beneficial because it could lead to changes in laws in various countries and seizing russian assets around the civilized parts of the world that would actually at least partially pay for the destruction, then for Poland it's a tool to gain leverage over Germany and become even more relevant in Europe. Recently I stumbled upon pretty nice read about the latter.

Is it just me or there are no reply notifications on kbin? I got few replies to my comments but there weren't any notifications for them.

What is a good hobby/skill that most people should give a try, and why so?
  • I am Polish native that can easily read Ukrainian, English and also some German and I have no clue what that sentence means in Esperanto :D. I can only guess that "lernis" is probably something like "learning" and "mondo" refers to "world" (guess based purely on 'Le Monde' - French newspaper). Rest looks like some random Lithuanian stuff. I don't think knowledge of Esperanto could give me any advantage when traveling across Europe. Idea is cool but to be honest English is the new lingua franca and I think that's good because it's easy to pick up and already widespread.

  • Why is there such a big thing about prescription opioids when the addiction rate in less than 1% for those who have been prescribed for pain?
  • In my country you just tell the doc that you want opioids and you get them. What's funny despite of that there is literally no problem with opioid addictions. It must be combination of other factors like poverty and lack of education etc. that combined with opioids cause the problem.
