The TestFlight is still available for you? Mine vanished, and the public link no longer works.
Oh, for sure. We do some awesome tea parties, while rocking fairy wings, unicorn horns, and tutus. No shame, here.
Mine aren’t old enough for me to know yet. My oldest (3yo) is really into unicorns and princesses right now. Not my cup of tea, but I know most of the words to the entire Little Mermaid soundtrack now.
Awful way to go. Stay safe out there, folks.
For sure. I can only make suggestions, and everyone is ultimately free to do as they choose! I’ll try to participate in the discussions wherever they are happening.
We’ve been hanging at the beach all week. My 3 year old has been loving it! My 1 year old has been indifferent, but at least she’s not hating it. We also have a bunch of family with us, so there are some extra hands to take care of the kids.
[META] Consolidating dad discussions at [email protected]
Hi Dads,
I made a post over in [email protected] about possibly consolidating the many dad groups down to just one (at least for now) to encourage activity.
The general consensus was that we focus discussion over at [email protected] because, among some other reasons, it’s the only community that seems to have an active mod.
I hope you’ll join me in posting over there!

Dads of Lemmy, should we consolidate the Dad communities?
Right now on Lemmy we have a bunch of dad-based communities with varying levels of discussion. From the ones I can find, we have:
[email protected] - last few posts were about a month ago. Mod was last active 10 months ago.
[email protected] - last couple posts were about 2 months ago. The post before that was about 5 months ago. Not sure about mod activity.
[email protected] - last post was yesterday, with some other posts in past few weeks. Mod was last active 6 months ago.
[email protected] - last post was a few weeks ago, with a couple months in between posts after that. Mod was last active 10 months ago.
[email protected] - last couple posts were a week ago. With about a month or so between posts after that. Both mods were last active a year ago.
[email protected] - last post was 3 months ago. Mod was last active 2 months ago.
[email protected] - last post was about a month ago, and the one before that was about 4 months ago. Mod was last active today.
To help facilitate discussion, what do you all think about consolidating the dad-based discussion to one of those groups (preferably a somewhat moderated one, which just seems to be fatherverse…) for now?
Sure, we can give that a try!
I can do that. Should be able to put that together later today.
Edit: done.
Yeah. I think most of them have inactive mods, which makes it tough. But having 5+ dad groups probably isn’t conducive to engagement at this stage.
I’m alone at:
There’s some activity over at [email protected]. During college football season it should be busy enough there.
If you combine all of the various dad-based groups (there’s several), the activity is somewhat there as well.
My two kids are here. So I guess I don’t have full brain shutdown. But, I’m not working. So I’ll take it.

Fort Myers No. 1 for this (fastest growing place) in new U.S. News & World Report ranking
Fort Myers and four other Florida cities made the Top 5 for Fastest Growing Places in new U.S. News & World Report study.
Anyone stuck in traffic in Lee County ― especially during season ― will likely agree with U.S. News & World Report on this: Fort Myers is among the "Fastest Growing Places" in America.
Fort Myers ranked No. 1, with three other Florida cities making the top 5: Port St. Lucie (No. 3), Daytona Beach (4) and Tallahassee (5).
What's more remarkable is how hurricanes have not deterred people from moving to Lee County. Hurricane Ian was a Category 4 storm in September 2022 devasted much of the region, causing more than $100 billion in damage.
And the facts bear this out. A News-Press storyMonday revealed how Lee County is attracting some of highest dollar investments in Florida. Lee ranks No. 8 among Florida counties based on business establishment growth, Gross Domestic Product growth and new building permits.
Just down the road from Fort Myers, Naples ranked No. 1 on the U.S. News list released Tuesday.
Sarasota came in at No. 11, followed by Pensacola (No. 31); Fort Myers (37); Melbourne (No. 49); Jacksonville (56); Orlando (68); Tallahassee (75); Ocala (78); Lakeland (80); Port St. Lucie (83); Daytona Beach (96); and Miami (123) rounded out the top 150.
"Naples, Florida, takes the top spot due to its strong desirability and job market scores, andmoderately high quality-of-life score," U.S. News said in its report.

Does anyone here on Lemmy log into a Remote Desktop on their iPad using VMWare Horizon? How’s the experience?
Happy Friday, Lemmy. What are your plans for the weekend?
This weekend I aim to relax as much as my children will let me. But my younger daughter turns one on Sunday. So, we’ll likely celebrate that.
