I do think we can blame the electoral college to a certain extent. How many people sat home in deep red states because their vote never matters? Unless you live in a handful of states there is almost no point. Take that away and let the people have a voice, not some bullshit system which was designed to prevent leaders like him getting elected.
This hurt me to read because I believe it. I wouldn’t have yesterday. I feel shame to live among these people anymore. I can’t reasonably leave but I’m not sure what else to do. This feels like defeat in a way I thought could never happen. Probably because I believed in those things that made America great. Not the government, but the people. You’re right, they are not the norm but the exception to what it means to be American. Fuck me.
They can be garbage and still be governed fairly at the same time.
We’re only 4 years from recreating Idiocracy. Hell we might already be there. Save us, Luke Wilson. You’re our only hope.
Neither am I. My point, if I had one, was more about the fact he was being Xenophobic. Not like he isn’t part of the group trying to establish a Christian state here.
…and so what if they were.
Iran Contra anyone?
I mostly agree with you. That said I don’t think Harris should be considered a replacement. Who I want to see is some combination of Gretchen Whitmer, Elizabeth Warren, AOC and Pete Buttigieg. I do recognize none of those are likely to run and I’m no expert on who should.
We have a perfectly good collider at home.
Some people just want to live their lives looking after their families. The idea that someone who wants to mind their own business being evil is a sad world view. I’m not suggesting that fascism should be ignored but what would you have me do? Take up arms and shoot my neighbors?
Imagine this quote in reverse. Imagine that the issue is with people being pacifist towards communism. Then what? Who is evil now? You think communism hasn’t been responsible for its own atrocities? These are just forms of government but man is the one who is corrupted.
This quote is a bit sensational. I get the point, but shaming people who mind their own business and keep politics out of literally everything? They should be championed. Maybe if we had more of those kinds of people we wouldn’t be so screwed as a society.
I’m sure you’re being obtuse but just to clarify they are two distinct humans and we are not from Alabama.
As someone who was recently laid off, I can identify. I didn’t see it immediately, but was able to travel to Arizona to catch some spring training baseball with my son and brother. That was all I needed to bounce back. On Monday I start a new job at a healthier company making 25% more money.
Yeah I don’t get it. How can a domain registrar not offer DDNS? I’m looking at Cloudflare.
He’s managed the impossible…. be more unlikable than Trump. Good for him.
Or he didn’t want to poke the bear
I wasn’t saying you have to respect it, only the person sitting as commander in chief should. Big difference.
Are you trolling or are you serious and you think John McCain is a genocidal maniac? I get that he was for the Iraq war and all that but please let’s not get absurd here. I personally feel that joining the military is a fools errand and consider myself a peacenick. However we’re talking about the literal commander in chief, a person who sits atop our military. You mean to tell me you think that person shouldn’t at least respect it?
Best parks
Does anyone have any insight on what the best parks are for families in the area? Specifically I’m in Cary, and I’m looking for some fun new playgrounds to take the kids.
