Reality you can't find in fiction
  • Idiocracy was just idiots, not an actively malicious group.

  • Same
  • Martok learned that lesson the hard way.

  • A Fraser Institute op-ed has to be taken with a grain of salt the size of the Canadian shield.

  • Winter is Coming
  • Scale is off as well. That axe is ant-size compared to the firewood in the foreground. Not to mention the fire hazard of starting a campfire so close to a stump, the lack of smoke, ...

This is it. They're trying to pull the ladder up behind themselves. "I got mine, fuck you." They don't realize that as far as the racists are concerned, they're in the "get fucked" demographic.

  • "Bruh"

  • What seemingly random thing do you vehemently hate?
  • I'll make one exception for audio messages: the other person being in a situation where they cannot easily type the message, but it's not an emergency. Hands full, driving, inclement weather, etc. I take it as an implicit "this message is important, but not drop-everything-else critical."

  • I want to feel like a bad-ass wizard
  • ARPG: Path of Exile, Last Epoch, Grim Dawn.

Also consider the survivors/bullet hell kinds of games: Vampire Survivors, Soulstone Survivors, etc.

  • D-Link refuses to patch a security flaw on over 60,000 NAS devices — the company instead recommends replacing legacy NAS with newer models
  • Doesn't matter to the D-Link bean counters. Either case is a non-sale to them. Never mind that they tank whatever is left of their already terrible reputation, all they care about is immediate shareholder revenue generation, and spending money maintaining software for older hardware is a loss to them.

  • Assimilation means family
  • Family means nobody gets left behind, or forgotten. Unless you're Janeway and Tom's salamander babies.

  • Round and round we go...
  • The graph is optimistic. If Argentina is any indication, the final result is the country stuck in the mud, spinning its wheels on "the previous government failed us because it was not far right enough! I, your populist savior, will fix that by dismantling any institutions that are left!"

  • Going splendidly
  • You get the snoot AND the boots? I call that an absolute win!

  • Don't render markdown in post titles

Every once in a while my feed contains a post with a title that begins with a hashmark, most frequently either microblog type posts with hashtags or numbered project update posts. Summit dutifully renders these titles as if they were markdown titles with a huge font. I would very much appreciate an option to render post titles as-is instead.

Ontario's funding cuts to public education

    www.buildingbetterschools.ca Support Early Readers

Numbers alone can’t tell us what it feels like to be a student, parent or educator affected by Doug Ford’s cuts. Hear the story of Kenisha, an early reading coach.

Seven thousand teachers and education staff being cut from public schools. Adjusting for inflation, per student funding has decreased by $1,200.
