Will Corps ditch Windows over Recall for Linux?
  • i have to use a Windows laptop for work, and teams sucks there. and the android teams app sucks. and i use teams on my Linux laptop for some freelancing, and it sucks there too. I'm starting to think it's just that teams is shit.

  • The Summoning
  • when you say something belongs to you, you don't call it "I's thing" - you call it "my thing".

if it belongs to your friends Jim and Bob, it's "Jim and Bob's thing" or "Jim's and Bob's thing". likewise, when it belongs to your gf and yourself, it makes more sense to say "my gf and my" or "my gf's and my", rather than inventing a brand new word that sounds so very stupid.

  • Discord: Have you lost access to your email? no worries, just regain access to it!
  • you seem to be misreading the message. if you no longer have access to your email account that is linked to discord, what the hell can discord do about it? nothing. so you have to contact the email provider's customer service to get access to your email account.

this is not just reasonable, it's the only way it could work. or do you think Google customer service will help you reset your lemmy password?

  • Is this actually credible??
  • bro, your mistake was eating the beef, instead of whatever the locals were making for themselves. there was always a long ass line for that shit, but it was always the best chow in the place.

  • Texas education leaders unveil Bible-infused elementary school curriculum
  • i went to high school in Texas in the 90s. One of the options for senior English was "the Bible as and in literature", where they did what it says on the tin - studied the christian bible as a work of literature, and also ways the bible was used in literature.

it was an aggressively non-religious class that focused on the bible because of its cultural importance, and some of my friends that started out nominally christian stopped identifying as such after reading the bible for class (some of them for the first time ever).

That's how you teach (just) the bible in school. Not whatever the hell they are doing now.

  • Nearly every time 🙃
  • Nah, NTs ask each other clarifying questions all the time. You just have to use the right tone and not any of the 100s of wrong tones. No, I can't explain or describe the tone, you just have to know it.

  • What could have been...
  • it's also completely possible that your Republican friends "liked" Bernie in the same way that they "like" Carter: they recognize that he's a good guy personally, but dislike his politics enough to not vote for him.

  • Truly a bittersweet moment
  • If you're American, one cool thing about being an adult is that you can decide to go back to school basically whenever you want. Community colleges are great for that.

I'm not sure how that works in other countries though, so YMMV.
