Hail to the King, baby!
Obligatory shout-out for any Bullfrog games of that era, especially Dungeon Keeper 1 & 2. Lionhead's Black & White is 1 year out of your window, but such a good game.
Also:
Syndicate Wars
Command & Conquer: Red Alert
Grim Fandango
Rollercoaster Tycoon
Descent
Grand Theft Auto
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes ranks number one for me; the original story with updated control scheme and graphics is awesome. Then it's a toss up between 2 and V. 2 is a solid game in the same mould as the first, but V allows me to Fulton extract unsuspecting enemies which is a genius mechanic that allows me an immense range of fuckery.
Against all odds, the two are determined to save their town... that is if the studio doesn't can the movie as an insurance write-off.
I'd forgotten all about Google+ until you made this observation
About how far does this leave us from a usable quantum processor? How far from all current cryptographic algorithms being junk?
Ok, good first step. When do the prosecutions for physical abuse start?
That may well be the thing I'm looking for, thanks for the pointer!
You don't understand because I didn't state why 😅 I have enough time and energy to set up and manage containerised applications. 20 years ago I might have had the drive to set up a local dev version, manage the dependencies and set up local init scripts, but not anymore.
KDE Connect is a great idea, thanks!
Selfhost alternative to sharedrop.io?
I make use of sharedrop.io to quickly share files between phones and computers on my LAN. Does anyone know of a self-hosted alternative, preferably containerised with Docker?
I'm surprised it's as little as 10%
Don't overlook Ben Sulayem's history of misogyny and the attack on Susie Wolff under his leadership.
Because, as it stands, ole Donny boy is going to aid him not hinder him
My absolute favourite controller of all time. No contest.
Take your pick from the Linux family tree
I don't know where you live, but if you have a Hado arena nearby, then a taster session might be a good gift. It's an augmented reality sport which can be played casually or professionally. There are arenas all over the world.
Unfortunately their world site is a little out of date. I know quite a few kids in my area of the UK, at around that age, who are getting into it.
I have no reference frame for AI computing power to know whether 26 TOPS is good, bad or middling.
I've not come across Arteck, thanks for the tip.
I use a trackball regularly. What's the make + model and how well does it work for you?
Recommendations for portable setup with keyboard and mouse?
I've had my deck for 2 years now and it's been my main gaming device since the day I got it. I take it on trips and use my 3rd party dock and controller to hook it up to whichever TV is at my location.
My only regret is that this way I'm limited to controller-only games, and I really want to play some of the keyboard + mouse games in my library.
Whichever kb + mouse I buy needs to be as portable and lightweight as possible, but still functional with near full-size keycaps (chiclet keys are ok).
I have a folding Bluetooth keyboard, but the build quality is absolute trash.
Any recommendations will be gratefully added to my research list!
Yes Ash Tyler, I can hear you!
