Kids? A Growing Number of Americans Say, ‘No, Thanks.’
  • Having fewer children is something that is positively-correlated with a society being wealthy, rather than the other way around.

Correlation is not causation, there's no "other way around"...

But what you're talking about is the drop in fertility due to industrialization and other periods where children worked less and cost more.

That's different than what I'm talking about; when a labor supply shrinks it means workers get paid more.

That's just basic supply and demand.

We're both right, just talking about different things.

  • Barack and Michelle Obama endorse Kamala Harris for president
  • According to the source, Obama believed it was important for the Democratic Party to have a legitimate process by which delegates would select their new nominee. An Obama adviser told CNN that the former president was taking the same approach as he did during the 2020 Democratic primary, watching closely with the intent of being able to unify the party when a nominee is chosen – whether it was Harris or someone else. Obama’s statement was intended to keep the focus on Biden – his former vice president – on the day he announced he was no longer seeking a second term, the adviser said.

At least someone got a say in who it is...

I just hope in 2028 we have an actual fair and open primary. We're going to have to see who Kamala puts in charge of the DNC to have any idea what 2028 will look like tho.

  • Kids? A Growing Number of Americans Say, ‘No, Thanks.’
  • Not having kids is the only way some of them are gonna be able to afford to live, and less people 30 years from now means they might even be able to afford a place to live if they can retire.

There's always fearmongering when populations god down, but historically it's the only time periods normal people can claw back some wealth from the 0.1%

Which is why the wealthy always freak the fuck out. They do t care about people, they care about labor supply, and the more people the cheaper labor.

  • Kamala Harris clarifies she condemns the anti-Genocide protesters in DC and fully supports israel
  • You can condemn awful people/groups/governments all around.

    Where has Kamala condemned Israel?

She still has to pay off the AIPAC money that get her into the Senate.

She won't be as bad as Joe, but she's already been bought and this statement after meeting with Bibi isn't a very good indication of how she'll govern.

  • Can you help me to understand Frame Gen and Upscaling?
  • Upscaling is the gpu creating a lower resolution frame, then filling in what would be there by guessing. Like, for a 4k frame it produces a 1440p frame then fills in the missing half of pixels. This gives more fps than if it did all the pixels.

Use this when you want the game to look better, but can't handle the fps at native resolution

Frame Gen is where it guess what the next fram will look like. So it essentially doubles the frames.

Use that when your fps is too low.

You don't need to, but you should probably turn one off. It's fine to go over your screen fps but over twice it is a little overkill

  • Biden calls his decision to step aside from 2024 race a matter of defending democracy
  • He did like a tenth of the press conferences as the last two presidents...

And people were pointing out his age related issues 4 years ago.

The only reason it took till the first debate for a critical mass to demand he drop out, was that was the first people had seen him speak for longer than 5 minutes. Ive been calling for him to do more public appearances/interviews this whole term, lots of us did. But we were called conspiracy nuts for saying an 80 year old was as capable as the average 80 year old.

The people around him day to day knew how bad it was and knew he'd be forced to step down if the public knew. So they fucking hid him. Just like Republicans did with Reagan.

Like it or not, that's what happened.

I hope you at least learned that it's not just ok to criticize your "team" it's fundamentally necessary.

If people hadn't, wed still be running Joe and trump would still be likely to win.

  • FBI Is Not Fully Convinced Trump Was Struck by a Bullet
  • I mean, the biggest reason is if he had an actual wound he'd be shoving it into every camera within a golf cart ride of him.

It would be all over the place. The only reason trump would cover it up, is if there was nothing there.

  • Harris is starting to vet potential running mates. Her initial list includes nearly a dozen names
  • I don't know if he's ever been to space. Most astronauts never go.

It's one of those "right place, right time" things.

Even if you'd be the best astronaut ever you need a mission to happen that requires your subject matter in a very short window.

    Still undeniable badasses

  • Harris releases 1st campaign video, spends a few seconds targeting Trump legal woes
  • Article links to it on Twitter, which I wish they wouldn't use:

    https://x.com/KamalaHarris/status/1816436341703397765

Not bad for a first run. Way better than what Joe was doing.

But I hope she pivots to why she will be a good president instead of how much worse Trump will be.

This is Trump's third election and we had him as president for a term already. Everyone's mind is made up on who trump is and what he'll do.

We need Kamala to tell voters who she is and what she wants to do.

  • Biden calls his decision to step aside from 2024 race a matter of defending democracy
  • She's light years better than Biden.

But she still takes AIPAC money, and spoke at their conference 7 years ago after they helped get her senate seat

    https://www.vox.com/2024-elections/362782/kamala-harris-gaza-israel-palestine-biden-netanyahu

But we literally just saw public criticism work, why are you so quick to say we have to stop?

We can't just show up once every four years and vote. We need constant pressure on politicians for them to do the right thing

Because there's constant pressure on them to do the wrong thing, and that almost always comes with "donations".

  • Twitter allows certain accounts to say racist things without filter. Interesting!
  • I legitimately don't understand why anyone that isn't a far right asshole is still on twitter.

If it's just them, they'll fight each other and eventually abandon it.

If you think you're staying to "fight" them, then you're giving them what they want: an argument in a place they control and a target for the rest to focus on.

  • FBI Is Not Fully Convinced Trump Was Struck by a Bullet
  • There's no way a bullet "grazes" an ear and it's not obvious... He'd be legitimately missing cartilage, he was seen golfing days later without even a bandaid on it

I don't think at any point any source has said he was shot.

Just that he was shot at, and came up with a bleeding ear.

Not saying he cut it himself, just that it probably got scratched at some point.

Due to Trump's age and, well, just everything about him, he's most likely on blood thinners. Which would make even a tiny scratch bleed like a motherfucker. It makes you bleed fast and takes forever to clot. A normal nick that barely bleeds normally would look like a murder scene

Add in the adrenaline and it's really going to pump out.

The most logical explanation is (and always has been) a SS agent accidentally scratched his ear while he kept trying to stand up.

  • Too many people have been desensitized to this racism and hypocrisy
  • It looks like the second one is still saying sports don't make up for their genocide...

It's hard to just go off headlines, but Qatar and Israel are both shitty governments, and it looks like that's what the author is saying.

  • 'Disgusting': Global 1% Captured $42 Trillion in New Wealth Over Past Decade.
  • Which is why it's so insane when media/politicians talk about "the economy".

The rich are squeezing everything they can out of the 99.9%, and are the only ones that can afford to save.

All that money is moving tho. Which is how we measure "the economy". Which wasn't a big deal 50 years ago when wealth inequality wasn't as bad.

But the metrics are essentially useless these days. Either the people bragging about the economy have no idea what's happening, or they're just flat out lying.
