Are exploration, “fame” threshold games good solo?

Curious as to everyone’s thoughts on games like Outer Rim and Xia when playing solo. Do you find the AI interaction sufficient?

Forgotten Waters Solo?

Has anyone played Forgotten Waters solo? If so what do you think of it? Also is the DLC that's available on the website worth it?

What is everyone's favorite, story-heavy, solo board game?

At the moment I'm working through Gloomhaven Jaws of the Lion. I know a lot of people say the story isn't much and that's true but I've been enjoying it so far. I think the next game I'm eyeing right now is Middara which I know has much heavier story element to it.

How is the story content of games like Oathsworn and Descent?

Also have Aeon Trespass Odyssey on order, can't wait to give that a try!

What's your favourite story-based/heavy game?
  • 100%, I'm even thinking about re-playing Jaws of the Lion since its not too long with voidborn and demo (maybe adding hatchet or redguard). My current solo playthrough is two-handed with hatchet and redguard and I'm not sure if I'm ready to step it up to three-handed haha.

  • What's your favourite story-based/heavy game?
  • Arkham Horror is soooo good! The core box isnt the best story but its not bad either. Currently me and my game group are playing through Dunwich legacy and I really like some of the story thematic elements that show up in game mechanics.

  • What's your favourite story-based/heavy game?

I'm currently enjoying Jaws of the Lion and is eyeing Middara next.

    Your favorite board games?
  • Dune imperium is really fun - worker placement with some deckbuilding and bumping tracks (as the brothers murph says).

If you like campaign games you might enjoy something like Kingdom Death Monster - dark, boss battler/settlement builder. Definitely mature game though.

Marvel champions is a ton of fun but it can be very expensive if you want to keep buying more and more packs. Baiscally a deck bilding game similar to arkham horror LCG but for marvel and not a campaign unless you buy the campaign expansions.
