I get what you mean. But refresh my memory, do we get any mentions in the books about someone who is not Rand using a flaming sword of Power? Assuming that's what we are seeing in the trailer i had always assumed you had to be a channeler to wield that

I immediately thought Rand because flaming sword. But looking at the stills of the trailer that doesn't look like Rand at all...
I did not see a free chair for the Little girl among the darkfriends. So I don't think she is a high ranking darkfriens of some sort.
I think she could be ransom that Fares Fares is using to get a darkfriend to do something against their will.
Another theory I have, a bit out there, is that it could be a certain forsaken masked through the Power. Fares Fares might be introducing the Little girl to later reveal she's a Chosen, to warn the darkfriends that now everything they do will be watched, and they can't escape the Chosens' eyes.
TGH is my favorite book as well. Honestly, if what we see in the trailer is of any indication, I think season 2 will be mostly TGH, and only being the essentials of TDR needed for the foundations of Shadow Rising.

Does it get better?
I'm reading Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir but I've been kind of struggling lately.
I think the writing style is breaking my immersion, all the cursing in the protagonist POV seems unnatural and gives the book an overall juvenile feel to it.
I'm around page 200 and in the last few chapters nothing much has been happening, which I would be fine with if some nice character moments or worldbuilding came out of it. But no, it's just her wandering around in this decrepit palace, interacting with nothing and nobody and being bored.
I don't like DNFing books but I am lacking a reason to keep reading this one. Does it get better? What should be this book's strong suit in your opinion? Character work, worldbuilding, plot?
