  • Sooo silky!

  • The weekend is too short
  • That third weekend day would probably still get eaten up by kids and chores.

  • Murphy has a question
  • "May I have some chicken after my salad?"

  • Biscuit, checking out the situation!
  • I loooove all the Biscuit pics!

    My favorite:

  • Murphy has a question

    He doesn't know
  • One that we tell wasn't acrobatic but just hilarious to us. Cat was chasing after a fly, then it disappeared and we were worried he had eaten it. We kept calling to him and he wouldn't move. Then we picked him up and realized he'd had it trapped under his dainty little paw.

Edited to add pic of our fly-hunter:

  • I mean, with tits like that ....
  • I just know I would be instant friends with whoever set up that display.

  • What’s pvp? An sti?
  • I must be good at compartmentalizing because the moments I vividly remember from PVP are the hard-fought wins, both 1v1 and as a group.

  • People have fun in different ways, I suppose.
  • My sister-in-law is that guy. That's why we don't like playing board games or doing escape rooms with her. Oh, and also because she's a bitch and is divorcing my brother.

  • Shocking
  • Gen X here and I didn't know it wasn't a sex toy until I saw your comment.

  • What's your list of banned brands?
  • Same here regarding fashion brands, except for Duluth Trading for clothing and Ariat and Hoka for shoes. When working out in the elements and walking on concrete all day, I find the extra expense for those brands are worth it for me.

  • NASA's Curiosity rover discovers a surprise in a Martian rock
  • While people associate sulfur with the odor from rotten eggs

I read this at first as "White people associate sulfur" and couldn't believe a serious science article would say that. I need coffee...

  • The Fifth Helmsman
  • I was scrolling through my saved posts and came across this one, made me laugh all over again. Thanks so much for posting this gem.

  • What are some good TV series crime/drama/thriller?
  • Bloodline drove home for me the fact that Florida is a very sweaty place.

  • What are some good TV series crime/drama/thriller?
  • Others have recommended several of my suggestions but here are ones that haven't been mentioned (in order of my own preference):

    Line of Duty

    The Killing

  • What are some good TV series crime/drama/thriller?
  • We just finished Snowfall last night. Awesome ending, very fitting.

  • If you could design your own body and hit a button and have it immediately implemented, would you keep your natural self or would you make changes?
  • I'm one of two women in my extended family that I know of who don't have any hair in our armpits, something I'm very thankful for.

  • Tell me something interesting about yourself
  • Part-time cashier at a big orange hardware store while trying to get my degree in horticulture.

Best cake I've ever had: Chocolate Chocolate Chip by Nothing Bundt Cakes. Seriously, if there's a location near you that you've always passed by, stop by and try it. Their Carrot cake and Lemon cake are also amazing.

  • Murphy (20ish) doesn't know he's geriatric.

He still gets the zoomies and crazies. Energizer Murphy -- he just keeps on going.

    "The burnssss us!" -Squinty McMurphy

We keep our oldmancat Murphy in his room at night; otherwise, he'll howl at our bedroom door at an ungodly hour, begging to be fed. His room stays pretty dim, so when we let him out in the morning, he always gives us this squinty face. <3

A plus side to Murphy being deaf - PART 2

A plus side to old Murphy being deaf

We had new floors put in today and Murphy was oblivious to the noise that would otherwise stress out a hearing cat.

How I packed up my plants for a 17-hour road trip

I gave away my only big plant, an 8-foot-tall bird of paradise. The rest needed repotting anyway, so I took them all out of their pots and buried the roots in a roughly 50/50 mixture of moist potting soil and perlite in a plastic crate.

I had a Philodendron micans on a tall moss pole. I took it off the moss pole, wrapped the roots in a damp paper towel, stuffed that portion into a Ziploc bag, and stuffed the whole thing into a clear plastic bag, loosely sealed.

I did the same thing to a Madagascar jasmine plant that had been vining around a bamboo arch.

Finally, I placed some smaller plants in a smaller plastic container with moist perlite.

Sadly, I had to give all my pots away. There just wasn't enough room or time to carefully pack everything. We were already a half day late getting underway with our road trip.

I'm thankful they seem to have all survived.

    Hobbes doll

I made this some years ago for my niece who I think was around 6 years old at the time. I'm very happy with how it turned out. Sorry, I don't remember what pattern I used. I stuffed it with old socks and T-shirts that I cut into pieces.

    Philodendron micans tattoo

    2020 - I got into houseplants.

2021 - I told myself, "If I'm still into houseplants a year from now, I'm getting a tattoo of my favorite plant."

2022 - Still into houseplants, and now also into outside plants.

2023 - Got it going in August.

2024 - My last session was just last Tuesday and I still have the Saniderm on.

There are supposed to be more leaves to the right of the tiger going towards my arm, but I'm suddenly moving out of state so it's done for now, at least with this artist.

I'm also panning to get the tiger touched up and color added.

    Murphy the flop-flipper

Murphy was found in a storm drain. We guess he was just under a year old when we adopted him. This video is from two years ago when he was around 18. He's still alive today and showing no signs of slowing down.

A young family member is going on a mission

So for the rest of this day, I'll be getting texts from 17 other people responding to this prayer request.

Edit: Other than the initial flurry of hearts and replies pictured below, it's actually been pretty quiet, thank goodness.

Lemmy, have you used free software to design your dream home?

This is just for messing around to see in digital form the house that I dream of in my head. Is there a truly free one that does a decent job?

I've played with it in Sims 3 but I was wondering if there was something more realistic out there. Bonus if it's something where I could generate a noob file that a pro architect could use to base a real design on.

    Snowy day with Murphy

Got called off work on this snowy day so it's lots of lap time for Murphy. Win-win!
