But starting this weekend, the account shifted its approach dramatically, as first flagged by a social media user on X.
Instead of posting "photos" of leaping dolphins and sandy beaches, the account suddenly started publishing images of flooded mountain neighborhoods, submerged houses, and dogs sitting on top of roofs.
But instead of spreading vital information to those affected by the natural disaster, or at the very least sharing real photos of the destruction, the account is seemingly trying to use AI to cash in on all the attention the hurricane has been getting.

If you want to write edgy replies, you have to expect some downvotes. I think that attempts to normalize toxicity and trolling online are absolutely terrible. I know I have to accept that some people are provocateurs, but I don't have to accept excuses for their poor behavior.
You didn't get any replies yet you decided to edit your comment to argue with an imaginary opponent. Mate, take a breath.

Just wait a couple of minutes and let the spider finish their workout, geez.
Don't you have better things to do than asking ChatGPT questions you already know it can't answer correctly? Why are you trying to inflate wheels using a hammer?
At least you were a straight A student in your grammar nazi classes!
Shot through the heart and you're to blame. Darlin', you give joke a bad name.
Neither is Metallica. That's not how this works, isn't it? People come because they know the band name, remember good old songs, and so on.
GNR doesn't have any concerts right now, so I can only use this data: https://www.rateyourseats.com/tickets/guns-n-roses
The average ticket price for all shows was $365
That's still much more expensive than 80 EUR (which includes taxes).
Do you see people behind smartphones they're holding??
Now concert tickets for Metallica are running $400-500 mid tier each.
😲
And here I thought 80 EUR for GNR was too much.
IIRC the storage space was expanding and we could even see that in real-time, that was amazing back then
UK train cancelled after squirrel refuses to get off
LONDON, Sept 18 (Reuters) - A train in Britain was cancelled after a pair of squirrels boarded the service and one refused to get off, Great Western Railway (GWR) said on Wednesday.
Staff tried to shoo the furry freeriders off when the train reached Redhill, Surrey, but one squirrel refused to disembark, GWR said.
"We can confirm that the 0854 Reading to Gatwick was terminated at Redhill after a couple of squirrels boarded the train at Gomshall without tickets, breaching railway byeclaws," a spokesperson for the railway said.
"We attempted to remove them at Redhill, but one refused to leave and was returned to Reading to bring an end to this nutty tail," they added.
Boeing to pay Embraer $150 million for withdrawal from tie-up talks
> SAO PAULO, Sept 16 (Reuters) - Boeing (BA.N), opens new tab will pay Embraer (EMBR3.SA), opens new tab a gross amount of $150 million over its decision to walk away from talks for a commercial aviation tie-up in 2020, the Brazilian planemaker said on Monday.
> The deal marks the completion of a lengthy arbitration process that began after the U.S. company aborted a $4.2 billion agreement to buy Embraer's commercial jet-making operations in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Accident: Alaska B738 over Pacific on Sep 12th 2024, fumes on board
> fumes on board causing nausea and difficulties in coordination to the flight attendants
There is no more information yet, but I thought this might interest people here as I'm personally quite curious what caused that accident. Hopefully nobody was injured.

Voepass ATR-72 accident: preliminary report
This is not the final report yet, but it confirms that there was an issue with the icing conditions, and it was acknowledged by the crew. It also suggests a potential issue with the de-icing system? But maybe I just read it wrongly:
> 15:15:42 - a single chime was heard in the cockpit. Subsequently, the crew commented on the occurrence of an AIRFRAME DE-ICING Fault;
Some other excerpts from the sequence of events:
> 16:19:28 - at a speed of 184 kt., the DEGRADED PERFORMANCE alert was triggered, together with a single chime. The alert was triggered concomitantly with the exchange of messages between APP-SP and the crew;
> 16:20:00 - the Second in Command (SIC) commented, “a lot of icing”;
> 16:20:57 – during the turn, at a speed of 169 kt., the INCREASE SPEED alert was triggered, in conjunction with a single chime. Immediately afterwards, vibration noise was heard in the aircraft, simultaneously with the activation of the stall alert;
> 16:21:09 - control of the aircraft was lost, and it entered an abnormal flight attitude until colliding with the ground. The aircraft rolled to the left to a bank-angle of 52 degrees, and then rolled to the right to a bank-angle of 94 degrees, performing a 180-degree turn in a clockwise direction. Subsequently, the turn was reversed to an anticlockwise direction, with the aircraft completing five full rotations in a flat spin before crashing into the ground.
About those alerts:
> If the aircraft’s drag increased due to ice accumulation and performance was degraded, resulting in loss of cruise speed, alerts in three levels were triggered and presented to the pilots on both alert panels of the APM, as follows:
> 1st Level - CRUISE SPEED LOW.
> The blue-colored message would indicate performance degradation of around 10%, with reduction of the Indicated Air Speed (IAS) during the cruise phase by at least 10 kt. below the speed computed by the APM. This alert would be triggered only during the cruise phase.
> 2nd Level - DEGRADED PERFORMANCE.
> The amber-colored message would be followed by a single chime and a master caution alert, indicating a significant performance degradation in the range between 22% and 28%, induced by a significant increase in aerodynamic drag, causing a drop in cruise IAS of around 15 to 20 knots below the speed computed by the APM. This alert could be triggered during climb, cruise, or descent.
> 3rd Level - INCREASE SPEED.
> The amber-colored message would appear flashing, followed by a single chime and a master caution alert, indicating that the degraded performance condition had worsened , reaching an IAS value below the ICING BUG + 10 kt. This alert could be triggered during climb, cruise, or descent.

Cathay Pacific Airbus A350 engine part failure, airline halts flights for A350 checks
> A problem unfolded several minutes after take-off on flight CX383 from Hong Kong to Zurich on Monday, according to flight tracking service FlightRadar24. The five-year-old A350-1000 plane performed two wide circles and dumped fuel over the sea before returning to Hong Kong where it landed safely about 75 minutes after its departure. Cathay Pacific said it identified an engine component failure after the aircraft returned to Hong Kong.
> Cathay Pacific has not specified which engine component failed, but the carrier said it was the "first of its type to suffer such failure on any A350 aircraft worldwide".
> The airline said it had "identified a number of the same engine components that need to be replaced" but did not say on which model aircraft.
Brazil airline Voepass halts some flights after deadly crash
I decided to post this link because I personally didn't expect that to happen:
> Regional carrier Voepass said in a statement sent to Reuters that the move was "necessary" as it now has one less aircraft in its fleet of ATR turboprops. Voepass said the measure was aimed at "minimizing potential delays and flight cancellations." Daily flights to nine locations will be interrupted at least until Oct. 26, when Voepass will reassess its network while planning for the next season, it said.
While the article does not specify how many planes they currently have, it seems that the number falls into the "not enough" category.
The door plug blowout on a 737 Max has brought all types of unwanted attention and legal problems to Boeing since the January 5 Alaska Airlines flight. This week Boeing tried its best to put the best possible face on its actions.

Why VPN tunnels are safer than opening a port on my router?
Hi!
I often read suggestions to use something like Tailscale to create a tunnel between a home server and a VPS because it is allegedly safer than opening a port for WireGuard (WG) or Nginx on my router and connecting to my home network that way.
However, if my VPS is compromised, wouldn't the attacker still be able to access my local network? How does using an extra layer (the VPS) make it safer?
