It can be useful to try to make one just to learn how it works
Holy crap thank you so much, I pass the tests now!
Yup its installed on the rom too, I tried universal safety net on it but it crashed my rom soooo...
For me the last good version of the OnePlus 8T was Android 11
Why you may ask? Simple : Bloat, battery life and the UI (the last one is subjective)
Since I updated my Oneplus 8T to Android 12 I felt like something was wrong. The constant notification to access location for nearby devices despite me not wanting to (no option to disable that easily). All the fucking preinstalled apps. And the ColorOS layout.
Since this version I searched and searched for a good custom rom with good battery life and for now I settled with Jaguar. It's based on Android 11 and the developer is very security conscious. You can even lock the bootloader if you donate.
The problem for now is SafetyNet. I can't launch all my apps because of that.
Am I the only one who felt like this since this update ?
Battery drain Lineage OS 20 on Media Storage
Hello everyone! I have a big battery drain problem on Lineage where the media storage service is eating my battery as hell. The phone is a Oneplus 8T. !Screenshot_20240213-155539_Paramètres
Do you have any idea what could be the cause of this?
Genuine question : Why use that instead of storing your musics on your phone ?
Battery level on Roccat Burst Pro Air?
Hi everybody, I recently got a Roccat Burst Pro Air which has a battery in it since its wireless.
The problem here is that I cannot see the battery level on upower by any means because I think it never was developped for linux as roccat does not support linux for its devices (don't know if its in the kernel or in upower itself?).
I'm not a driver developer but a web developer. Maybe I can try to support this device in order to expose the battery level. But I don't actually know where to start.
Can anyone guide me?
Thank you in advance!
There was one game (ECHO) where I had weird performance issue on Windows but not on Garuda. The game is not CPU bound i think. If someone has an explanation as to why this is happening, don't hesitate to tell me : https://piped.video/watch?v=ODL-jpZgy_M
I mean you are right about proton working for a lot of games. The problem is I have a VR headset, its a meta quest 2 and I tried ALVR but it wasn't a very stable and smooth experience for me :/
I had a lot of problems with proton and NTFS drives recently (slowness and games that would not launch)
Best partitioning scheme for dual boot ?
Hello ! I am actually running a dual boot with Windows and Arch. I have 5 disks (3 HDD and 2 nvme SSD) with this partitioning. These are the drives : HDDs :
- WD Blue 2 TB hdd (5400 RPM)
- WD Blue 1TB hdd (7200 RPM)
- Seagate Barracuda 2TB hdd (7200 RPM) SSDs :
- Samsung 870 evo 512GB
- Kingston A1000 256GB
And this is the partition scheme that I used so far
- Windows
- 512 GB SSD => NTFS for the OS
- 2 TB HDD (Seagate one) => NTFS for games
- 1TB out of the other 2 TB (Wd blue) drive (Backups) NTFS
- Linux
- 256 GB SSD => ext4 for the OS
- 1 TB HDD => ext4 for data and games
- 1TB out of the other 2 TB drive (Backups) ext4
Some problems that I encounter are disk space problems on the Linux SSD because sometimesvI want to install demanding games on it.
Do you have any advice on what I can do to make this scheme better?
Thank you in advance.

I got the exact same problem, i tried to install acpid but i don't think it solved anything (the problem is pretty random). I see that you also have a Nvidia GPU,maybe related ?
No fortunately lol.
The installation process and the fear of frying your computer can actually be a no-no for some users. (Not that it actually happened or can happen but some people are just really scared of doing this type of thing) Like the Linux experiment said : we need to have more accessible Linux hardware like we have Windows Laptops and desktops.
Dual boot Windows 11 and EndeavourOS on KDE
You can use btrfs on Windows ? How is the performance ?
