In dreams, you're mine
  • Tokyo Godfathers is probably my favorite movie of all time. It generally gets overshadowed by Paprika or Perfect Blue in discussions, but for me it's easily Kon's best work, and I've seen all his features and as many of his other works as I could get my hands on.

On the surface much more grounded than Paprika as it seems to tell a much smaller story, but so intricately woven within itself. Flawlessly crafted and layered visual storytelling. Worth the watch!

  • What movie did you rewatch most often?
  • Raiders of the Lost Ark, Mad Max: Fury Road, A Knight's Tale, Tokyo Godfathers, Life Aquatic.

I've seen them all at least 5-10 times fully and probably more times partially. It's definitely a wide spectrum, and one of them is not what you would call a "good" movie compared to the others. I'll let you decide which, but I'm hella not ashamed.

    How about an animation community?
  • Hey thank you so much! r/animation didn't really have a ton of activity either, but at least there's a start! I suppose I could mod if activity stays light. I've never done it before, though

As a member of the guild who's big on WFH and the potential to not have to live in LA, this is great news! 💪

What are you currently reading, and general thoughts so far?
  • Had a long pause for a while, but back to making my way thru all of Discworld in publishing order. I'm on Monstrous Regiment at the moment and enjoying Terry Pratchett's delightful writing as always.

Chthulu Casebooks sounds fun, I've never heard of it but I enjoy Holmes and mysteries in general, will make a note to check it out!
