Trying to pirate a physical book. Where do I get thinner printer paper?
  • Why don't you just get it printed and bound at a copier, like Staples? They have various thicknesses of paper.

  • California Cop Who Shot 18-Year-Old Had His Bodycam Off, But Surveillance Footage Captured Him Shooting Suspect in the Back as He Fled
  • Doing "something good" doesn't suddenly make up for all the people they've killed, maimed, raped, etc. Isn't it crazy that cops can do this all the time and nothing happens? Not acknowledging there's a problem that people are ignoring is crazy.

You can't trust a cadre of people who have been proven to be likely to have an authoritarian personality to be the arbiter of justice in high-stress situations and hand them lethal weapons - especially not after training them that every single person they meet could be dangerous.

He shot someone running away in the back, I guess because he didn't feel like running after him even though he's both mandated to be in shape and monetarily compensated for it. Generally that's seen as worthless coward behaviour, but it looks like @0Xero0 loves that type of thing!

You must also believe we should execute people instead of putting them on trial, because that's what happens every time a cop kills someone for a simple traffic violation or for running away/freezing up because they're scared.

  • The A-Shirt
  • https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleeveless_shirt#Tank_top

It's because they resemble the top part of a full-body swimsuit that was called a "tank suit." Here, "tank" refers to a tank of water used for swimming (i.e., what we usually call a pool).

  • PSA: Docker nukes your firewall rules and replaces them with its own.
  • I just set it up last week, it works exceptionally well.

Did you also install podman-docker, make sure that the podman socket was running, and verify that the socket directory referenced in the config files was correct?

Those are the 3 things that I got a bit stuck on. In the end, I RTFM and all was well.

  • Alabama seeks to carry out second execution using controversial nitrogen gas method
  • Oh, I didn't know that. I suppose it's a matter of public safety at that point. Though it does sort of force a person who is intent on dying to use an alternative method that may be more violent and/or public.

  • For the love of God, please delete my fucking account. It's been over a month. Please.
  • @Damaskox I don't want my votes to be public. I wasn't aware that this was the case until recently, but the concept makes me uncomfortable and this limitation wasn't obvious when I signed up (July 2023, just after the Reddit API changes).

Regardless of whether you believe that's a valid reason, I feel like I should be able to delete an online account easily and promptly if that's what I choose to do, no matter my motivation for doing so.

  • You'd have to ask the 4chan OP about the lore of his made-up universe, I have no idea.

  • Store workers need to stop following Black people around stores. That's what I'm understanding was the main factor here... Stop making racism your job, you have a real job that needs your fucking attention.

  • This is how I quit too but I started at 6mg nicotine. A lot of people start at 18mg or so but I think that that's too much, at least for me. I was nearly having heart palpitations taking hits off of a friend's vape, lol.

  • Debate over photo radar cameras moves to rural Ottawa
  • Ontario definitely already has that. The demerit limit is also lower for drivers without a full license (classes G1 and G2). But, like I said, it must be too lenient.

  • One person 'swarm commander' can now control 100 drones
  • Wouldn't want a drone operator being overburdened while razing a village, now would we? Blood for the blood gods!

  • Welcome to rental land on plex
  • I'm a hater too so I get the desire to criticize, but I'm wondering why these posts aren't made to a Jellyfin community, one of which exists on this same instance. It looks like it could use the activity, unless I'm missing that there are rules against it.

I like Plex and don't want to change, so all these "lol Plex sucks use Jellyfin/Emby" comments on posts are just annoying. I wouldn't say anything if it only happened sometimes, but it's so often now. There's a place for you - please, for the love of media servers, go there.

  • I can only see myself using this if they make new titles available between the time of the theatrical release and the BluRay release.

I don't go to the movies much - I saw The Boy and the Heron last month, but before that was Tenet. Sometimes I will want to watch something that's in theatres but not on streaming or BluRay - this could fill that niche, if they wanted it to.

If not... I can wait and download it my usual way.

  • Baseline highrises near Experimental Farm approved by Ottawa city council
  • Do you genuinely believe that these highrises will be affordable for the common person who is suffering from a lack of housing availability? They will, in all likelihood, be luxury condos for rich people.

  • Debate over photo radar cameras moves to rural Ottawa
  • Does Ontario not already have a points/demerits system? My mom was an alcoholic, so I saw her get her license suspended once, twice, for 5 years, then permanently.

I guess it's too lenient to make a difference.
