Was on a Don’t Starve kick, but thinking about doing some Stardew Valley because it’s such a cozy game
Hope you’re feeling better. Good to know it’s possible, as I’ve got more cash invested into the PlayStation platform than I probably should have.
Friiiiick I miss freelancer so much. Best space sim to date.
D-word, so you’re saying I can play PS5 from a dang steam deck?
Fuck yeah c
Hahahaha, this was what I was thinking of. Thanks!
Wait… is this a deep cut? Why does this seem familiar?
It does affect Americans heavily, especially if he was the breadwinner. That said, the timing really is atrocious, so he should spend any free time during the holidays refining his resume and written references (since people are in a charitable mood this time of year).
Best of luck that he lands something soon!
I dunno if Green Bay can stand up to KC, but I’d love to see an upset for the Packers in their home stadium.
What freaking happened? I was expecting a slaughter, but the other way around.
I have a place like this in my town. They know their food is bomb ass good and they still manage to be excited you’re there to eat even though the place is filthy
I read this as “only chair we can use in the graveyard” and thought you worked for a mortuary service and there were too cheap to get to a decent maintenance stool.
Jessica Dickler, why the FUCK would I wait for the value of my cash to disintegrate when I could get 1.08x more tacos today than if I put that money in savings and bought tacos with it next year?
WHAT?! My hero!
What was a profound moment that a video game caused you to experience, and why?
The moment that inspired this question:
A long time ago I was playing an MMO called Voyage of the Century Online. A major part of the game was sailing around on a galleon ship and having naval battles in the 1600s.
The game basically allowed you to sail around all of the oceans of the 1600s world and explore. The game was populated with a lot of NPC ships that you could raid and pick up its cargo for loot.
One time, I was sailing around the western coast of Africa and I came across some slavers. This was shocking to me at the time, and I was like “oh, I’m gonna fuck these racist slavers up!”
I proceed to engage the slave ship in battle and win. As I approach the wreckage, I’m bummed out because there wasn’t any loot. Like every ship up until this point had at least some spare cannon balls or treasure, but this one had nothing.
… then it hit me. A slave ship’s cargo would be… people. I sunk this ship and the reason there wasn’t any loot was because I killed the cargo. I felt so bad.
I just sat there for a little while and felt guilty, but I always appreciated that the developers included that detail so I could be humbled in my own self-righteousness. Not all issues can be solved with force.
Should there be Lemmy user awards?
As I scroll through the global feed, I end up seeing content from a lot of the same people (“The Picard Maneuver” is a user I recognize often and appreciate their content).
Would it be worthwhile to have some kind of “Top of Lemmy” or “Top of the Fediverse” awards where the Fediverse could honor users that made an impact over the prior year?
Anyone think that a site like Wealthftont is a good place to stick an emergency fund?
Wealthfront is designed to build wealth over time. Earn 4.80% APY on your cash, and invest for the long term with a diversified Automated Investing Account.
A buddy of mine told me about Wealthfront recently and they’re 5% money market account rates.
Growing up in a world where savings accounts and even CDs never approached more than 2%, the rates on this new thing blew me away.
Free money is great, and I’d love to take advantage of these rates, but the only cash I have currently is the emergency fund I’m trying to build.
Anyone have thoughts on if putting an efund in this kind of service is a bad idea? Not sure if it’ll be liquid enough if a major expense comes up.
