Lemmings who know where/when they contracted COVID, how long after your exposure did you become symptomatic?
    • I can't remember the exact time frame, but my neighbor had stopped by for a while then called later that night to say he tested positive for covid. This was back when Delta variant was the most rampant. A few days later (i want to say 3 or 4), I was sneezing like crazy (I thought my allergy sneezing was bad! Oh no! This was 10x worse!) running a fever, vomiting, and coughing. Nothing tasted or smelled right. About all I could stomach was blue Gatorade and fries.
  • What do you like to use as background noise when you crochet?
  • If it's a pattern with lots of repeats and easy to follow, I'll put on some urbex videos or a movie I've seen lots of times. This way, I still have background noise and extra visual stimuli while being able to focus on my project. Otherwise, I listen to what video game or movie/youtube my husband is playing

  • Maybe building a better internet means going backwards
  • I miss Angelfire and Geocities websites.... damn I feel old.

  • Maybe building a better internet means going backwards
  • I absolutely agree! I hate video walk through with a passion. I miss the days of finding a text guide, printing the part I'm stuck on, and going back to my game instead of having to wade through a ton of junk.

  • Yo ho ahoy and avast! Being a pirate is really badass!

  • not wood working, per se, but your daily reminder to take safety seriously
  • Yep, I always charge hazard pay if I need to use my angle grinder. Even Dremel cutoff wheels make me incredibly nervous.

  • 70 percent of gamers avoid certain games because of 'toxic communities', study finds
  • I prefer to play the old school way- in my living room, disconnected from the internet. I'd go back to Sega Genesis and old NES any day.

  • The last time you've been trolled by your own body ?
  • Thinking I had a nasty toothache when it was nasty sinus pressure instead. Once the decongestants kicked in, I was fine!

  • how does my "neighbor" hear my private telephone conversations.
  • I too was about to suggest the neighbor has Bluetooth hearing aids. A family member has Bluetooth hearing aids and you can never tell they have them.

  • Florida bill allowing radioactive roads made of potentially cancer-causing mining waste signed by DeSantis
  • At this point, I would not be surprised if he was Judge Doom in disguise.

  • The worst physical pain you've ever experienced ?
  • It's a tie between my worst ever sinus infection and back labor when I had my youngest. That sinus infection had my head just THROBBING any time I moved and it was searing, blinding pain.

Back labor sucked because all my contractions felt so bad wrapping around my back, and since I was high risk with high blood pressure, the doctor didn't want me sitting up very much and wouldn't allow me to walk around before my epidural.

  • Sriracha sauce is selling for as much as $120 amid prolonged shortage
  • I was curious about the Tabasco one. I saw it last week, but wasn't sure about it so I passed it up. I'll have to grab a bottle when I head back to the store

  • I just want to share my collection, it is my first post on lemmy 😁
  • What an awesome collection! Have you heard of Mansions of Madness?

  • How to live simply with kids?
  • If you can find a copy, I suggest the book The Idle Parent by Tom Hodgkinson. It might help you some

  • You get to play one videogame for the first time again. What you picking?
  • Bioshock and Silent Hill 2

Edit: also a very old and very obscure PC game called AMBER: Journeys Beyond. Basically, you had to go check on your collegue and do some ghost hunting and puzzle solving to save her

  • What is the most annoying ADHD trait that you have?
  • For me, it's a tie between having no object permanence and waiting mode. My lack of object permanence really shows in my kitchen, because I will keep everything I commonly use on the counter. If Idon't, I forget I have it. Waiting mode really speaks for itself. If I have an appointment, I can't do anything else til I'm done with it. I'm also compulsively early to every appointment because of how angry my parents would get if we were even a minute late to anything.

  • 60% of subreddits are still dark! Reddit activity down 30%
  • It felt really good to delete my reddit account. I hadn't logged in or posted in months, and just lurked for a while. I was amazed at how toxic it had become. Reddit angries up the blood! (to paraphrase Grampa Simpson)

  • What foods do you enjoy because of the texture rather than flavour?
  • Potato chips, cheetos puffs, gushers fruit snacks, twizzlers and kitkats are my go to food when I want textures more than flavor.
