Legends speak of the one who can master all 4
  • Movie-Kili really misinterpreted the last one.

  • Magnificent chunky shooter Selaco gets a 'MEGA' update
  • I played it because of all the glowing recommendations but wasn't all that impressed. It's fine, but not even the best boomer shooter I've played this year. It's technically very impressive what they were able to do with the GZDoom engine, but the gameplay and level design doesn't support it.

  • “Don’t worry honey, I got this”
  • "When your wife won't fuck you anymore and neither will your daughter."

  • First look of Jack Kesey as Hellboy
  • I'll give him a chance. I had the same initial reaction to Peter Serafinowicz as The Tick in the Amazon series, which was basically "this isn't Patrick Warburton so it can't be any good." But I eventually watched the series and really liked it, even though Warburton is still the definitive version for me.

I also thought David Harbour was alright even if the movie wasn't very great, but Ron Perlman simply is Hellboy. That'll never change, but he's also probably never coming back so the choices are give the new guys a chance or never get another movie again.

  • The Force Unleashed I/II was not as fun as I thought
  • Yeah. It made the focus a lot more on lightsaber combat instead of force powers and showing off the physics engine of the technically "superior" versions of the game.

  • Reminder that Giorgia Meloni published anime art of herself to Twitter
  • Then conservative parties worldwide should stop courting fascists in a desperate attempt to remain relevant. Simple as that. Every western conservative party I can name is so far right in 2024 that they're licking the gunpowder residue out of the bullet hole in Hilter's decaying skull.

  • The Force Unleashed I/II was not as fun as I thought
  • I replayed the 360 version of TFU recently and really can't stand it. But I also played the Wii version ported to Switch recently too and it's just as good as I remember. They're very different games and the Wii version was always my favourite.

  • Paul Simon - Kodachrome (1973)
  • Now I need to watch Coneheads again.

  • Games where an emulated console version outclasses the PC port?
  • Giants: Citizen Kabuto. I love the PC version, but the PS2 version--despite looking a lot worse--feels more like a finished game. There are things like elevators that don't exist in the PC version, cutscenes don't cut off dialog before it's finished, and the UI is overall more polished.

  • Could victory be their final fantasy?
  • They know they'll probably lose, but the next government will be stuck with cleaning up the mess they caused. So the Tories will start blaming the new government for all the problems that were inherited, and people will complain that they aren't fixing things quickly enough. Then in another 5-10 years the Tories will be back in power, because people are just that stupid.

  • exponential growth of wolverines
  • Augh, yeah you're right. He may not have the look but he has the personality to make it work.

  • MrBeast has a lot of money
  • Why can't I have no kids and three money?

  • exponential growth of wolverines
  • We are still owed a Lobo movie starring Jason Momoa.

  • exponential growth of wolverines
  • Ah, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. I did read some of the original Ultimate X-Men but didn't get that far.

  • exponential growth of wolverines
  • I asked a friend who is into comics this same question years ago and was told that when Hulk ripped Wolverine in half and tossed the lower half up a mountain, the upper half had to crawl up the mountain to rejoin with the lower half in order to heal. Not sure if that's accurate so feel free to correct me, but that's what I was told.

  • Rubber ducky, ur the one
  • Forbidden gummy worms.

  • The Midnight - Brooklyn. Friday. Love.
  • With Chromeo? Jebus, if I were a concert-goer I would think this was set up specifically for me. I'll never stop loving "When the Night Falls."

ETA: Yep, that music video was definitely someone's fetish. Also, pretty sure that's Olivia Taylor Dudley from The Magicians and 5secondfilms getting pregnant twice as two different people.

  • It's a banger
  • I love the song that plays in the Asylum nightclub.

R you also gonna make a joke on tidy data?
  • Definitely need to see Tiddy Data.

    Oh, you said "tidy."

    Statement withdrawn.

  • D&D But... It's Pokémon | Oxventure

This is a hilarious one-off from Oxventure where they combine Pokemon with D&D mechanics.

Mac Glocky - Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana (if it was written by Incubus)

When I run out of Incubus songs to listen to I've been turning more and more to Mac Glocky. He also does good impressions of Smashing Pumpkins and Chevelle.

I just ordered this from the Xbox Design Lab

I justified the stupid cost to myself because it can also simultaneously pair with my Steam Deck and the paddles will work with all of my old games that I had to use the rear buttons for in the control mappings.

Can you help me choose a new Mastodon instance?

I'm currently on TenForward.social, which is great. I have no issues with the users or admin. They're all good people. But I'm more of a casual Trek fan and posting about anything non-Trek-related doesn't seem to be what the other members want to engage with. I like to post about sci fi or horror movies I'm watching, games I'm playing, old TV shows from the '90s and '00s, and other geeky things I'm into; but it's like I'm talking to myself when I do.

I know there's also the global feed, but that's like spitting into the ocean.

I've tried to find more of a general media or geek-culture focused instance but have come up dry. Does anyone know of something along those lines?

    PS5 Performance?

I know a lot of people are having issues with the frame rate, but is that limited to PC? I'm playing on PS5 and it's been very smooth. The only thing I've noticed is NPCs fading into existence when they're right in front of me.

It could just be that I have low standards.

    Oxventure: Deadlands

    https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8DF056nV-PUUx6yNb4LXxnz8AzjOXr_T

If you're unfamiliar with Oxventure, they're a TTRPG group that spun off from the Outside Xbox channel. They mostly play D&D but occasionally do a one-off or shorter campaign of things like Blades in the Dark or Lasers and Feelings. They make my favourite actual play videos besides Dimension 20's first season of The Unsleeping City.

This is the full playlist of their Deadlands campaign.

    Hard West 2

Here's my contribution. If you enjoy games like XCOM and Shadow Tactics you'll probably like Hard West 2. Everyone says to skip the first game and the story of the sequel doesn't follow from it anyway so it's a fine starting point.

We used to sing along to this in my friend's van all the time.
