  • Oh... you just remind me that I forgot to put thermal paste back on it.. (the server is actually on right know)

And it's not for 24/7 use, no worries for my bill ahah!

  • I made a blog post about an old IBM server!

IBM xSeries eServer 346 #1 – First Look
  • Isn't it exactly what I did with the server though ? :)

Well, not in a real museum but yeah ahah

  • IBM xSeries eServer 346 #1 – First Look
  • Indeed it wasn't clear that I made the article, sorry

But still, don't tell everyone to throw stuff away, tell them that they can still learn a lot while trying to make it run, but that it is not for 24/7 use only, except if power is really cheap (don't assume everyone is paying high price for power)

  • IBM xSeries eServer 346 #1 – First Look
  • It is 64bits, I got Debian 12 on it. Don't assume when you don't know!

For the power, of course it's consuming like hell, but it's just for fun that I take a look at old hardware! Just enjoy some hardware pictures!

  • IBM xSeries eServer 346 #1 – First Look
  • Please, first, start by reading the article.... Stop wanting to throw everything in the bin, old hardware are still relevant to learn how the world was made of in the past. Would you say to an archaeologist to throw the 2000+ years old pan he found because he can get a new one for cheap online ?

  • GNOME June 2024: C'mon you can do better
  • I actually like it, margin is maybe a bit much. For the apple extra margin, gnome app can add any buttons they want on those dialog, it is up to app devs to add an extra margin between some button!
