CrowdStrike effectively bricked windows, Mac and Linux today.
  • Critical surgery computers may also be running under Windows LTSC, so they might not get the CrowdStrike patch. Maybe...

Edit: So the issue is apparently caused by CrowdStrike. So, unless the surgery computers also use CrowdStrike then it would be fine. Unless, of course, if they use CrowdStrike on surgery computers...

  • I'll just save them in this folder so that I can totally come back later and read them.
  • If the document isn't DRMed, then it would be pretty noble. Who knows, maybe once the original document is lost in the sands of time and becomes lost media, your copies will be the only few ones left.

  • Let's not forget this art is on the top of all time list of the furry_irl subreddit, and I even thought this was posted on a furry_irl communities before looking at this community's name.

  • We all know it's true
  • To be perfectly fair, this is also the case even with real life friend groups, where there are generally that one or two friends who hold the friendship the most.

How do you represent different system members in physical space?

Usually, different system members have different appearances. Sometimes, different system members may have different bodies to each other-- even as far as having different gender or species. But with only one physical body, it's hard to represent or tell every members with the same body in physical space. So, how does your system handle that?

How do you tell apart or represent different system members in physical space? Do you only differentiate in headspace-- each members' physical form exist in headspace while the real life self remains the same regardless of who's fronting. Maybe you use subtle cues like arm ring color or necklace. Or maybe you use different clothes for different headmates-- though that would be difficult if you switch front while being outside.

Perhaps it's the different behavior like walking style, gestures, or manners. Or, just through the different personality each system members may have while fronting.

For us at least, we don't differentiate that much physically-- we like to think our body is separate from our headspace identity so it doesn't need to match our headspace form. We're also closeted about being plural, so we don't try to cue the fact we are more than one person.

Does it make sense for a world of animals trying to live in harmony to outlaw predation but still use the death penalty as punishment?
  • Generally, and in some cases unfortunately, murders aren't just weighed based on whether someone dies but also the motive and how it relates to the victim.

One could argue that preys generally don't deserve to die in the hands of predators since they don't do anything wrong besides existing, but predators who kill others deserve to die as punishments because they've taken another lives. It's basically the same concept as a human society that still has death penalty.

Whether it's ethical or sensical to have death penalty in a world where predation is outlawed is as hard of a question as the question about death penalty in real life.

  • Would furry anthros wear clothes?

Most fursonas do wear clothes. But putting aside the aesthetics factor and focusing more on the practicality-- would a furry anthro in an anthro society wear clothes?

Focusing solely on mammalian anthros with fur. Well, they have fur, so temperature regulation and the elements aren't really reasons to wear clothes given that they have natural, furry clothes already. Wearing clothes on top of that might be too warm, especially in the summer.

The thing I'm wondering is, would anthros figure out to make clothings themselves? And if they do, how would they look? Having their body completely covered in fur might make shirts and pants irrelevant, which means they might never develop them in the first place. I suppose other articles of clothings like armbands, headbands, etc would still exist, and so would practical items like glasses or watches.

Of course, clothing serves more purpose than just covering bare skins. They serve aesthetic purposes and shows our identity. For example, police anthros might wear some sort of stuff to distinguish themselves. And much like humans, anthros would probably have a culture around clothing, but how their clothing would look and how much it'll cover is the question.

Would most anthros only wear head and armbands? Maybe just something to cover their bottoms and nothing else? Or would they wear clothes similar to us?

Furthermore, different animals have different fur with different thickness, length, shapes, forms, etc. These different furs require different clothing. Anthros with thicker fur may wear less clothing than ones with thinner fur. Even more, different anthros will have different body shape and size. Clothing for rabbit sonas may not fit bear sonas.

Anthros might have different size standards for different species to account their differences. Imagine how hard it'd be to manufacture all the different variations, though. Any clothes store would have to take into account multiple species and multiple sizes for that species.

Well, I think that's interesting to think about.

  • [TW: sexual dimorphism] Transgender furries worldbuilding
  • I've seen the art, it's really cute :3

  • [TW: sexual dimorphism] Transgender furries worldbuilding
  • That's interesting. Though, I wonder how it would play out for other Pokemons, especially Nidoran and its evolutions (nidoking and nidoqueen). How would a non-binary version of them play out?

  • [TW: sexual dimorphism] Transgender furries worldbuilding
  • And even wilder, animals that don't conform to our idea of gender (yes, they exist too!). There are still a few things I think can be explored in this topic, sucb as:

    • Animals that reproduce asexually, thus lacking in gender,
    • Animals that are naturally hermaphroditic (such as worms, though these animals are rarely used for fursonas anyway),
    • Animals that can change their gender naturally (such as clownfish. Unrelated, but can you imagine how interesting it would be if that fact is referenced in Finding Nemo?),
    • Animals with different sex determination. For example, turtles' gender are determined by their temperature in the egg. Imagine the gender stereotypes!
    • Birds also have different chromosomal system for determining gender. It's not XX or XY for them, but I don't know much about avian genetics.
    • Some animals have different gender roles. For example, female hyenas are higher in hierarchy than male hyenas. Also, for lions, the lioness are usually the ones hunting. Given that different animals have different gender roles, it would be interesting to see how that would play out in an anthro society where many different species would mix.
  • Transgender furries worldbuilding

[TW: Mentions of sexual dimorphism in animals. TWed just in case]

Most animals are sexually dimorphic, which means male and female individuals are different from each other beyond their bottoms. But for some animals, the differences are even more starking than humans.

For example, the different feather colors between male and female mallards. Male mallards have green heads while female mallards are mostly brown.

Other animals takes it further. Such as how all workers of a eusocial insect (ants, bees, and wasps) colonies are female and the males are just drones. There are many other examples in the wild.

When we turn these animals into anthros, we tend to keep their dimorphism, at least most of the obvious ones like how anthro deers have antlers, male anthro lions have manes, etc.

    ---

Now imagine if these anthros were transgender, how would it work out? How would they transition?

For example, how would transgendeers deal with their antlers? Would they wear fake antlers (for FtM deers) or cut their antlers (for MtF deers)? And what about anthro animals where the male and the female individuals have different fur/feather patterns? Would they have to paint their fur?

I suppose hormone could play a part in dimorphism even for animals, so much like humans, HRT may exist for anthros. But how would they work and what's the effect for anthros, especially for non mammals like insects, avians, and fish sonas?

But aside from that. I think the biggest hurdle would be size differences. Many male animals are larger than their female counterparts, sometimes as far as being twice their size. That could be a problem even worse than height dysphoria.

    ---

Of course, all of this can be hand-waived. Just like how anthro bears and anthro rabbits are often drawn the same size despite being a bear and a rabbit, we could also make male anthros and female anthros the same general size.

Besides, most animals don't have visible tops, yet most female anthros do.

But, I think this is an interesting topic to think about.

Do you still watch YouTube? Who do you follow?
  • Generally, I tend to focus on smaller creators, their qualities are usually better.

The channels I watched include Nitro Rad (gaming), MattKC (tech), and Modern Vintage Gamer (retro console/gaming).

  • Stupid rule
  • I think it was used wrong. CMIIW, but you only need to separate clauses with a comma if the subordinate clause comes before the main clause, so this: We squint at the sun, because it's too bright

Should've been this: We squint at the sun because it's too bright

But if the subordinate clause comes before main, then a comma is needed: Because it's too bright, we squint at the sun

However, the above mistake is not a mistake in German and a few other languages. If you translate the above sentence in German, it looks like this: Wir blinzeln in die Sonne, weil sie zu hell ist (yes, i use Google Translate)

[CW: Mentions of Transphobia] Persecutor is causing our host to disappear, what to do?
  • I suppose it does make sense considering how unfriendly our system could become lately. We've tried our best to sort that, it is fortunate that most other system members don't support transphobia, so hopefully things will get better for us.

  • Persecutor is causing our host to disappear, what to do?

    [Content Warning: mentions of transphobia]

Long story short, our persecutor have been trying to repress our transfem host, to the point where she rarely fronted nowadays. Maybe it was internalized transphobia, which sometimes caused us quite a problem.

While she's not the only transfem in our system, I couldn't help but to feel bad that she might felt unwelcome here, in her only safe space. She's also pretty empty and unresponsive ever since she started to disappear.

Which fursona species do you think has heavy trans vibes?
  • I also think Hyenas should make it on this list now that I think about it, for another reason

  • Which fursona species do you think has heavy trans vibes?

A bit of a fun post, so no need to be serious.

Which fursona species do you think has heavy vibes with trans people? Which fursona species do you think many trans people would make or at least relate to?

Here are some of my suggestions:

    • Cats: catgirls, enough said.
    • Raccoons: maybe I'm slightly biased since it is my fursona, but I suppose they give a chaotic energy many trans people relate to, plus they're cute and unique.

What other species do you think would fit on this list?

To transfurs out there, would you want to turn into your fursona if it means turning to your preferred gender?

    So, would you?

    • Hell yeah, there's no downsides!
    • I would if it's what it takes to be my preferred gender.
    • Maybe, I'm kinda torn...
    • No! I don't want to be my fursona for real...

    Some clarification:

    • You would be the only one turned into an anthro, everyone else is still human.
    • If you have multiple fursona, you'd have to choose one.
    • The gender of the fursona you chose to turn to would match your preferred gender.
    • You wouldn't receive the superpowers of your fursona if they had one. You wouldn't become extremely large, have superpowers (especially not omnipotence or shapeshifting), or anything else other than an ordinary anthro.

My response: > Personally, I'm kinda torn. Becoming both my fursona and my gender at the same time would be a dream come true. Being my fursona isn't just a downside, it's what I wanted. > > But, in this scenario, I'd be the only anthro raccoon-- or anthro at all-- in the sea of humans. Thinking about it, if humans already discriminate against others just because of sexuality and gender (think of queerphobia and transphobia), imagine how they'd react to a completely different species, one that looks like an animal. > > It'd be cool to be my girl fursona, but very hard with how humans behave to anything different from them (also, funnily enough, I imagine myself as my fursona commenting on humans when I wrote that sentence).

Welcome to Furrywriting! - Rules and more info about this community

Hello to all furries, welcome to furrywriting.

This is a little community within pawb.social for the scribes among us. For the inks and quills of the fandom. For... you get the idea: this is the place to share and discuss stories relating to the furry fandom.

Whether a story about your real experiences in the fandom, a fictional story themed around anthrophomorphic animals, or a discussion about worldbuilding for anthrophomorphic animals and its worlds, all are welcome.

But before you dive in, heed well, as our community has so called rules to follow. Scroll further down and you will see what it says.

    ---

    What to Expect

What sort of contents should you post and expect to find here?

    Fictional Stories

    > Share stories here as long as they prominently feature anthrophomorphic animals. Whether short or long, uploaded/published here or elsewhere, filled with many or only one anthros, for as long as anthro animals had plenty of relevance to the story, it should fit here. > > Try to make sure the story fit within the general furry/anthro theme of this community. Other contents beside stories have different rules as seen below.

    Discussions About Writing

    > Ask questions about the writing craft. When it comes to the nitty gritty of writing, you are not limited to only ask or give advices for furry-related stuff. You can ask general questions about the writing craft, such as grammar rules, whether to use a comma or a period, how to write a good first chapter, or things to avoid in writing.

Real Life Experiences Within the Fandom

    > What impact did this community have in your life? How is your experience in the last anthro convention or your last fursuit outing? Do you have any other stories to share about your experiences with the fandom in real life? Share it here! > > You are not limited to just fictional stories in this community. You can also post real life experiences and anecdotes if you want to.

    Discussions About Anthro Worldbuilding

    > How would a society filled with anthro animals look? How different would it be to human societies? What details might we miss about anthro animals? What about being covered in fur, having paws, or having a tail entails? > > Discuss about the intricacies of furry worldbuilding here! Talk about the design of a world filled with anthro animals and how it would look. Talk about how a single anthro would survive in a world full of humans. Or perhaps talk about your idea for an anthro races in your story. > > You can post about character design or worldbuilding detail here even if the full story isn't primarily about anthros, as long as the design or detail have a bit of anthro elements. What matters here are the anthro elements of the story.

    Poetry and Other Written Arts

    > Much like stories, you can share poetries and other written furry arts here. But much like stories, try to make sure the written arts fit within the general furry/anthro theme.

    In summary:

    > You can expect the following contents in this community > - Fictional stories > - Discussions about writing > - Real life experiences within the fandom > - Discussions about worldbuilding > - Poetry and other written arts

    Additional Notes:

    > Anthro/furry themed fanfictions, such as fanfics of Sonic the Hedgehog, Undertale, Pokemon, etc, are allowed in this community. Though, we recommend posting these fanfictions to its own fan community first if it exists.

    ---

    Post Titles

Post titles should ideally include a short flair about its contents in bracket. For example, if you upload a story, the title should look like this: [Story] The Raccoon's Wish

The text in bracket should be based on the post's content. For reference, this is the brackets and contents pair we recommend: > - [Story] for fictional stories and worlds. > - [Writing] for discussions about writing. > - [Real Life] for sharing real life stories. > - [Worldbuilding] for posts about furry worldbuilding. > - [Poetry] for poetries. > - [Promotional] for promotional contents as mentioned in rule 2 of this community. > - [Meta] for posts about this community itself. > - [Other] for posts that doesn't fit the other categories.

Posts made before this post title change does not have to be retroactively edited with post titles.

    > Do not spam or post too many promotional contents in a row here. Contents are considered promotional if one can't see the full contents without paying, such as novels (which must be purchased before it can be read), books, or patron-only story. > > For a general rule of thumb, ensure that there are only one promotional content every few posts when sorting the community by new. We do not want this community to be flooded by posts which only promotes paid content, as these generally do not create much engagement. > > Remember that spam and advertising are not allowed as per rule 6 of this instance

    03. Tag NSFW Contents

    > NSFW contents are allowed here, but please tag them properly as NSFW. > > Note: anything erotic counts as NSFW, even if it isn't inherently sexual. Rules and Infomations for Transfurs

    Hello everyone, welcome to transfurs!

This is a community for transgender furries where we can come together and discuss more about the intersectionality between being transgender and furry. Of course, other queer furries and allies are welcome to join as long as things stay on topic.

Given the huge number of trans furries, we thought it might be a good idea to have a dedicated community. It would be nice to discuss the intersectionality between furry and trans experiences.

Keep in mind that despite the name association in other places, this community isn't about transformation related stuff (as in human turning into furries and the like). Rather, this community is about transgender furries.

We welcome transformation related contents if they are relevant to this community's purpose. But if you want to find and share purely transformation related stuff, there are other, more appropriate communities such as:

I need help dealing with Repression and Internalized Transphobia

    Hi, I'm Jasmine.

This post is a bit of a vent, but I also genuinely need help and comfort. I hope this is appropriate to talk about here and that I don't ruin the vibe of this community too much.

I'm tired with myself repressing my gender. I'm tired with me telling myself maybe I can live happily as a boy, maybe I can convince myself, or maybe this is all fake somehow. I feel like I'm not meant to be a girl, that I am meant to be a boy, and that I shouldn't transition because it's against my cultures. And my internalized transphobia sometimes made me think like a bigot when given the chance.

I've done my best to avoid lashing my internalized transphobia to anyone, even online, and I'll continue to do my best. I'll continue to do my best to support trans people, but ironically it's hard for me to support myself.

I know this all sounds so negative, but it's been eating away at my mental health. I need help.

I just wanted someone to reassure me that it's okay for me to transition and that there is nothing wrong with being transgender. I would also greatly appreciate sites and resources for trans people to reassure me that it's okay to be trans.

How is the worldbuilding of your fursona?

When it comes to designing a fursona, most people focus on appearances, which makes sense. But, as with any character design, fursonas can have a surprisingly deep world behind them. Afterall, your fursona has to live in a world somewhere and their life would tell a story. But how was their story?

A story does not have to be written. A picture can tell a thousand words, after all. If you have made or commisioned multiple arts of your fursona, how did each of them relate? Were all the arts of your sona related to each other? Did they overall tell a continous story?

Your fursona may have a well-developed story overall, just a simple backstory, or not at all. That's fine, but even then, there are still a lot more things to consider with the world your fursona live in. The world your fursona live in should theoretically have a rule; some elements of worldbuilding.

And every fursona have a different world behind them: some people make every species in their sona's universe match the size of their wild counterpart, meaning that bear anthros are much larger there than rabbit anthros, while others make every species much more similar. So while a rabbit is smaller than a bear, the difference isn't as big (perhaps the size differences are closer to human vs another human, instead of irl bear vs rabbit). Another element is smell: some give their sona, especially dog fursonas, better sense of smell, while others never mention about this detail.

So what about your fursona? What other notable worldbuilding details did you put in your fursona's world?

    > For me at least, my raccoon fursona doesn't really have a rich backstory or a story in general. She is a transgender raccoon girl who is socially awkward, always curious but also anxious. She is mostly left alone by everyone around her as nobody understands her and she doesn't understand anyone. > > Aside from that, she also lives in a wold where everyone is plantigrade. There are no digitigrade anthros even for digitigrade species like dogs, mainly out of preferences and a lack of drawing skill. Everyone also has similar sizes. While bears are bigger than rabbits, the differences aren't significant. > > One interesting thing is that regular, feral animals are also present in my sona's universe. They are indistinguishable from real life animals and mostly coexist with anthros. Anthros and ferals are completely different species, even if they're based on the same species. > > Overall, I think my worldbuilding looks generically similar to your average anthro universe worldbuilding. What do you think?

    French Euphoria

    > ALT: Drake disagree-agree meme with drake disagreeing to "Using Duolingo to learn a new language" and him agreeing to "Using Duolingo for gender euphoria" while showing a screenshot of Duolingo asking its user to translate "I am a woman" to French.

I can't believe that after weeks of dysphoria and me trying to repress who I am, this is the one thing that broke me into gender euphoria. Strange how that happens.
