The transphobia stops now
  • Which is why it's important to give no quarter to fascism and theocracy no matter where you live.
Proud to carry my Satanic Temple card right next to my goddamn union membership book.

  • The transphobia stops now
  • The fact that they need a space away from everyone else, and the fact that this post even had to be made, is a testament to mankind's inhumanity to man. People are people, but there's an unsettling amount of people that can't see past creed, color, sexuality, and so on.
I'd say it's a monument to our own hubris as well. We're the most advanced civilization that we know exists, but still can't seem to treat members of our own society right.

  • The transphobia stops now
  • I'm here because 196 shows up on my feed and I really enjoy the memes.
I also have absolutely no problem with trans individuals or really any lifestyle anyone wants to live that isn't hurting anyone else.
That said, was there an incident recently on here that spurred the creation of this post? Did something go down?
Edit: Changed "bothering" to "hurting" because I frankly don't give a fuck about the feelings of the type of people that are "bothered" by LGBT+.

  • How many Lemmy users are non-technical background?
  • I assume, considering this is the fediverse, that by "technical" you mean IT-related, Silicon Valley type fields.
While I grew up on computers and know my way around them, and have a bachelor's degree in biochem, I'm an Operating Engineer.
That's the proper title of "union guy that runs heavy construction equipment." Mostly, I help build or resurface roads.
I'm one of the guys y'all get irritated with when your local highway is restricted to one lane by a work enclosure, but are thankful for when your new road rides nice.
It pays really well though, so there's that. And it is actually very technical, but in a materials/engineering sense.

  • What are the bad patterns of Reddit to never repeat on Lemmy?
  • A post history enables accountability, which is something a lot of people severely lack.
If you take issue with being held accountable for what you say, then perhaps you need to look at what you're posting.
I have only read the comments here and didn't look at your post history, because I frankly don't care enough to, but I would imagine people are assuming you do not argue or debate in good faith. That may be an incorrect assumption, for all I know, but you'll need to make your positions more clear to people that might feel some type of way about what you're sayin'.

  • Toxoplasmosis is a disease you can get from exposure to cat shit (protip: wash your hands thoroughly if you touch cat shit. And keep your litter boxes clean). A protist causes it. It usually only affects people with weakened immune systems though.

  • Petition: Defederate from exploding-heads.com
  • I would totally agree with you if the general populace weren't as easily influenced by misinformation and indoctrination as, in fact, 5th graders.
Like, there's really nothing for anyone to make up their minds about. Don't give these people a home here; they don't need to reach the rest of us.

  • I hate battle royale games
  • I personally am very limited these days in the PvP games I will play. I really enjoy either single-player experiences, or co-op games like Deep Rock Galactic, that new Starship Troopers game and Ready Or Not. But yeah, as far as PvP goes, I turned away from BR very early on and never looked back. That's a young man's game, if you ask me. I'm holding out hope Starfield will be great, and I'm absolutely stoked for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 as a long time vet of the original three entries.
