Hi, I want to take over !cassettefuturism community.
  • Good afternoon Sag,

I'm looking into this situation and doing my due diligence. I have messaged @[email protected] to confirm if they are actively moderating the community, it seems they were last active about two weeks ago.

If I don't get a response within a couple of days I can appoint you as a moderator. Thanks for your patience, and I appreciate your contribution to lemmy!

  • Post federation issue between lemm.ee and lemmy.ca?
  • Hey guys,

We are aware of federation delays to lemm.ee and are investigating at this time. I will let you know in this thread when I have an update for you.

I appreciate you letting us know!

    Edit:

Looks to be somewhat inconsistent, with the worst of the bunch being federation to lemmy.blahaj.zone. Lemmy.ca seems to have caught up, I see your post federated now @[email protected]

  • UniversalMonk ban evasion
  • Hey guys,

I've reviewed the situation and don't believe Universal Monk has earned a instance ban from lemm.ee. Auk, if he continues to post in communities he's been banned from from his lemm.ee account , please let me know.

I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

  • What can be done about downvote brigading / voting abuse
  • Hey there buddy,

Decided I'd poke my head in here and see whats going on. To answer your question directly, you can report it to myself or another admin, along with specific examples, links, and other available evidence. If we investigate and it's clear that there is some form of brigading/abuse, we will take appropriate action against the user(s)/community that is being problematic- particularly if they are following someone across communities and instances.

If your conflict with a given user or group of users is mostly contained within one community, we will (generally) leave that to the community mods discretion.

All of that being said, I looked through your post history and I dont really see what you're talking about. Can you DM me with some specific examples of the behavior you're concerned about?

  • Trying to use PayPal to do a Ko-fi donation...
  • Hey Johnny!

I really appreciate your desire to help support this instance- seriously, it means a lot. Erring on the side of caution is reasonable and I don’t blame you.

I’ll be honest, I don’t have an immediate answer for privacy conscious payment methods for US users, but give me 2-3 days and I will find out what method works best for you. Again, it’s awesome you posted this so we can figure it out not just for you but for other privacy focused users based in the US.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

  • Problems with: 1) hosting offsite banners & 2) efficiently uploading images here:
  • Hey Johnny, thanks for the heads up-especially about the image size issue. I don’t work directly with our back end infrastructure, so I don’t know if there’s a specific reason for that- but I will find out and post an update here when I’ve got some info.

Thanks for helping making Lemm.ee better, it is much appreciated

  • Unable to upload images to posts
  • Hey buddy! Thanks for pointing this out, after further review we found that there was a networking issue on the back end. It's since been resolved and shouldn't be an issue going forward, don't hesitate to shoot me a message if you notice anything else.

  • Unable to upload images to posts
  • Hey buddy,

Thanks for letting us know, I know a few other users have experienced a similar issue. I’m working with our other admins to get it diagnosed and will update you guys when I have some more info.

In the meantime if you could screenshot any and all error messages you’re receiving and document steps to reproduce them that will be helpful.

  • Photos not uploading anywhere. What gives?
  • What is the file size of the photo you’re trying to upload?

Iirc, Lemm.ee has a 500kb photo upload limit because we are not built as an image hosting platform it is highly recommended you use an external image hosting service. The restriction has not been changed to my knowledge.
