WBT BRIDGE
A new online bridge platform popped in to the interweb.
Just stumbled upon them recently, not sure how long they've been around for.
They have a nice sleek app - lets you practice against their "Powershark" robot (which is supposedly an improvement over the former World Champion SharkBridge engine) - and also have Daylong IMP and MP "mini" tournaments, clearly inspired from BBO.
I played a few deals already. Powershark is quite decent, although it doesn't allow you to tweak the bidding system.
It was good to see another new platform competing with BBO, Funbridge, IntoBridge, TrickyBridge and likes.
Note : I am not affiliated with WBT in any way shape or form. Just thought of sharing this with the community because it's always good when more people get involved with bridge :-)
I would say so, yes.
COVID definitely played a role in moving the bridge community to mostly online - but even during pre-covid times, I have seen physical clubs dwindling gradually. We had a couple of local bridge clubs, going down in numbers as days go by, where the players' average age was deceased.
People getting busier and busier caused them to look for places to play deals after deals in a shorter period of time, and what's better for it than an online platform ?
One good thing is that bridge is getting more and more competitive in recent times, and players have switched from "leisurely play" to "improving fast". Unfortunately, online play has made bridge popular than ever, but the social aspect is diminishing, and there's no way to deny that.
As for myself, I learnt bridge from my dad in my teens, with actual cards and human players in front of me, but then there was a hiatus of about 2 decades (you know the drill, life happens, family, kids, blah blah) - and after all this time when I got back to bridge again, online is what I see everywhere.
Not that it is necessarily bad - online platforms brought people "closer" from all over the world - but I do miss the bidding box, LOL.

I read a boatload of ebooks on my device, and this has been my ebook-reader of choice for a while. I found it to be so good that I did the IAP, and stopped using Librera Reader.
For all that matters, I am a huge supporter of FOSS apps (that's the reason I have only one paid app lol) - but Moon+ reader Pro beats Librera in two areas - Librera is pretty slow when it tries to open a huge file, and Librera also can't download book covers like Moon+ does.

2 mines left, and this is supposed to be No-guess.
However, it seems that there can be two answers to this -
(A) The top square of the top pair and the top square of the bottom pair, can both be mines.
(B) The bottom square of the top pair and the bottom square of the bottom pair, can both be mines.
But then this is not really guess free, is it ?
(Note - I did go with option (A), and it proved to be right. But my original question still stands).

Bingo. I guess you got my reason behind flagging the square above the "4".
But I am still stuck.... May be brute force is the only way out...
I think so too, but so have been unable to reason anything. Heading in brute-force is obviously the last resort for me, but was looking for something logical before I do that.
Because the two covered squares to the left of the "4-with-flag-on-top-of-it" can have only 1 mine (because of the "2" there), which means the "3" needs one more mine, which can only be on top of that "4".
At least that's my reasoning.

I just read about this extension today. Seems interesting. The description says It's supposedly doing more than just switching the UA.
Not going back to Jerboa unless the basic feature of searching contents other than just communities is implemented. I find this fundamental feature sorely lacking in Jerboa while every other app around there have this.

What are these "bass" and "treble" that I see in an equalizer ?
I am not an audio person, so do not have much idea about technical terms - but I hear the words "bass" and "treble" almost everywhere now, especially in the equalizer app that came with a new bluetooth earbuds that I bought (yes, I am still very much a wired-earbud guy, just dipping my toes in the wireless earbud ocean).
So what do these "bass" and "treble" mean? I guess I hear the sounds to be different when I monkey around with the equalizer. The sound is slightly deep/full for "bass" and less so for "treble".
Is that all?
