"Atheists are so mean!"
  • If you went to Catholic school, you know believing in God did not make the staff nice and happy at all.

  • This is an insult to the cow that died for this to exist....
  • How would you know if there was? šŸ¤¢

  • You just need to pull yourself up by the bootstraps.
  • I like the the 2014 quote from the person as a teenager. Makes me think they and their peers worked hard, went up the ladder, and saw the people on the same rung donā€™t work hard OR that you see others in the hierarchy as less hardworking no matter where you are.

  • Deepfake voices improving kidnapping scams
  • I have had calls from similar numbers to my own, and seen caller IDā€™s for people that arenā€™t contacts. I havenā€™t picked them up, but the temptation was there to do so.

  • The supposed "ethical" limitations are getting out of hand
  • You were polite, so it couldnā€™t assume malice. It costs nothing to be polite :)

  • The supposed "ethical" limitations are getting out of hand
  • >Implying it would have stopped at one AI program

  • The supposed "ethical" limitations are getting out of hand
  • If people hadn't tried so hard to get it to say outrageous things, there would likely be less stringent restrictions.

The people who cause this mischief are the ones ruining free speech.

  • The Original Pikmin still holds up incredibly well
  • Obfuscating the number of deaths might help. The running total and the graph of deaths over time in the day are painful to look at.

Iā€™d also add that if they drop a seed when they die, the death isnā€™t counted against you. Or have helpful Pikmin ghosts because that sounds like a Nintendo thing to do.

  • Are you guys tired of "Material You" design?
  • Not who youā€™re replying to, but I donā€™t like the giant album art menus. Save that for a now playing screen that should still be able to be shrunk down.

  • Are you guys tired of "Material You" design?
  • Gotta agree. On the left, Iā€™m drawn straight to the secondary set of symbols.

On the right, the ā€œdistinct segmentsā€ are more distinct to me, because of the colors. Primary symbols, All Clear(?), numpad catch me first. Then I notice the lack of shapes and color on the secondary set of symbols.

  • Forget self-care. To feel better in this world, we need collective action, says Massey lecturer Astra Taylor
  • Yep. Self care, but you need to sit in traffic, come to the office, do the work of two people on a project that has unrealistic deadlines, for pay that lets you enjoy absolutely nothing in the free time you do have. And absolutely no self-care on company time.

  • If you were given a choice between a fancy boat or a fancy car, which would you pick? You can't sell either.
  • Assuming things are taken care of financially, I would pick the fancy boat. It sounds like a lot of fun to be on one and I like being in water. I wouldnā€™t pick the car because I feel like itā€™ll have the same experience as a car, just slightly nicer. Maybe with a chauffeurā€¦

  • Iā€™d be more concerned whether it has enough RAM, Racks for Allocating Mugs. Those take up so much space!

  • 'No kill' meat, grown from animal cells, is now approved for sale in the U.S.
  • I love these articles because it makes me hopeful for the future. I used to see them in a community called wheresthebeef.

  • Why Kbin insead Lemmy?
  • I liked KBin for including other fediverse posts in the feed, and slightly the UI. I went through the TOS and some Lemmy instances I couldnā€™t even find them.
