(Don't get me wrong, I can compile kernels and code. I just don't understand the nuances of all these licenses. My eyes literally glaze over when people start talking about licensing, I know the flat OSS licenses but "dual GPL/MIT"? I'm falling asleep asking this!

So can you remove this file: /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/home.conf and then the command will operate as expected? Then you can put the file back in place (assuming you are going to add additional users to the OS)?
If that works, and its a server with probably only 1 user, then remove home.conf and be done with it.
Granted, systemd-tmpfiles should not be creating NON TMP directories and files. There should be a mechanism that is something like systemd-usrfiles which essentially does the same thing but operates out of /usr/lib/usrfiles.d/home.conf. I don't know how deep it goes but there should maybe also be a /usr/lib/sysfiles.d/ directory if it goes that far (or can potentially go that far).

This is an open ended question, it seems we need to encourage people to join here as well as being on their preferred platform (which is not ours to discourage or be derogatory about).
I still frequent the "that site" because I want to help - but honestly I dont want to help "that site". Not that I am really doing so.
However, it feels weird if I do have to say "we are also on fede.. blah blah" and lets be honest about this -- its less support, but by more knowledgeable people (??probably I believe so).
How do we get them (and lets face it, Franco) over here to support OSS.
