Does anybody know how this will affect the EU?
My greatest joy in life is learning new things. I have never, ever had coffee. I've never been interested. Just simply never cared for it.
While the prices arent insane, I still spend nearly double my insurance each month due to "eigen bijdrage". I think it's 400 per 3 months, though I'm not sure.
So I understand wanting to catalogue all treatments he could do whilst not needing to pay for'm.

Just with the rant thought of the root of this problem, and that is the general populace and how they use it xD
Just keep in mind that installing an app via the respective app stores (just install, not custom settings) is often the limit of what people can, and are willing to do.
People just simply don't have the time, willpower and/or knowledge to get a controlled LAN working. It's similar to how you don't expect everyone being able to fly a helicopter, or build a car from scratch.
Because (in NL) you're supposed to wear a full protective suit with padding and a helmet, or get a significantly worse ticket and potential loss of head/limb.
It is. From my experience a couple months back its crisp. Not the highest graphics, and it took a little getting used to from a high-end PC, but it was really nice. In certain aspects even preferable xD
To clarify, as youve not understood the joke, nor read the comments. As far as I understand it, were you to start sailing at the first point, you never have to turn to arrive at the second. That's why it's "straight". On the 2d plane you are completely correct however.

I mostly want to switch since it feels better. It's a first big step into becoming independent from Microsoft, and I don't like the way they're going with LLM's among other things (I.E. totally oblivious of any security issues or broken code until the internet/EU spanks'm for it)
The main reason though, windows 10 has ShapeCollector.exe to help windows learn your writing style. Windows 11 removed that, and just didn't replace it with anything. Really irks me that.
In terms of thunderbird, school needs to grant permission, which I did ask for. Don't think they've granted it though.
Question: If windows is required, what distro do you recommend?
So, at school we use the whole Office 365 suite for a myriad of tasks.
Teams is used as the main way to share exercises and lesson material, Outlook is used as the resident email service, and you're expected to use OneDrive to store all/most of your data. There are some additional apps that require Windows, but beyond the office 365 suite they are all replaceable.
What I'm wondering is, what distro can run/access those apps without too much hassle and set-up?
I'm looking to do this on a HP probook x360, upgraded to 32 GB of ram. The only peripheral of note I've got is a Ugee drawing tablet, but I can use the openTabletDriver or their own on some distro's.

User helpimnotdrowning recommend Mint! This'll be my first real daily foray onto Linux, so it's definitely a good option. I'll also have a look at Gnome Vs KDE. I've been looking at KDE in the past, but gnome is definitely worth a peep as well.
User BearOfATime, thanks for giving the software name that allows for a seamless VPN transition! I'll also look into the win 10 LTSC. Not sure it's a right fit, but it's always fun to learn more!
As a couple of you recommend, there seems to be a teams flatpak to download, so I'll have a look into that!
Finally, I'd like to thank y'all for the useful and helpful answers! Many of you said to try the webapps, so I'll be doing that! My current plan is to use VMWare (alt is Vbox. VMware works (and looks) better) and try to actively use a mint VM. Not sure If I'll be able to stick to it, and not unknowingly switch to windows, but having it as a starting app should solve a couple issues. Slower start times, sure, but that's not the worst. Your advice is very much appreciated! It's given me a good confidence boost to start. Thanks for that :D
On that last part, theres a difference between elevating a file to admin, and being an admin in Windows.
In a lot of cases the ui is GREATLY simplified when not an admin, to the point where you might only have like 20% of all available options.
For the standard user? Great! Not when you're messing around with permissions.
It's why you ALWAYS log in as Admin when setting up a windows server. Iirc you can't even install tiles without actually being an admin, even if you have all logins.
From my experience with windows, your current guess is correct btw :D
TF is crate ent. on about? They've not even made an RTS, let alone one with love and care out into it? They've got an RPG* (grim dawn) and a city builder (farthest frontier) on steam. Neither come anywhere close to what an RTS is supposed to be, and like others have said, Dune (don't know the specific name), C&C, warcraft and StarCraft we're all impressive mainstream games, all RTS.

That's intended. Even to premium subs youtube pushes adds which try and promote engagement. Its fucking awful.

To add, I personally have had all of the complaints of digital keyboards happen to physical ones. Just not the removal of the numpad. The others, wordt of which is lag, Ive had plenty. Input lag IS THE WORST.
