'Before marrying Melania in 2005': What new documents claim about Trump-Epstein
  • "trump supporters" are not a monobloc. And different people value different information in different ways, for their own reasons. We need to peel off as many trump voters as possible. Discouraging statements like "trump supporters do not care about this" help to get trump elected. If you want fascism, u/nutsack, that's how we get fascism.

  • DC police arrest 81 people, impound 273 vehicles in crackdown on mopeds, scooters
  • Apparently it was possible all along. Wonder of wonders!!!

  • That was my first question; why? TY for answering it!

  • Remember that?
  • Excellent point!

  • Man busted for carrying Master Sword from Zelda in the street
  • I'm just reading the article, as you were also able to do, and it says, "On 8 June, officers were made aware via CCTV of a man, Bray, walking down Queens Road, Nuneaton, with the sword in his hand. Bray approached officers with the blade visible, at which point he was arrested." Bold added for emphasis. If I were out in public in the UK, and if I happened to have a bladed implement, I'd keep it out of sight. Especially if there were police anywhere nearby. But hey, you can do as you please. Have a nice day!

  • This "victim surcharge" would be termed court cost or court fee in the US.

  • Man busted for carrying Master Sword from Zelda in the street
  • Not for simply having, but for brandishing said bladed device as the police approached. That's the law, in that city. As the officer said, “It is possible to find fidget toys that aren’t six-inch blades. It is possible not to walk down the street holding them out in front of you. With a bit more self-awareness, Bray could have avoided contact with us completely.” Bray brought this on himself, and could have avoided any contact with the police. He chose otherwise.

  • Popular weight loss and diabetes drugs linked to increased risk of rare form of blindness
  • Which, of course, explains why all blind people are thin. And opens a whole new avenue for weight control. We'll make kitchen light switches that only work within certain BMI ranges. /s

  • St. Louis Race Massacre (1917) On this day in 1917, white mobs in East St. Louis began indiscriminately killing black people, burning down homes with the families trapped inside, killing more than...
  • "Racial tensions had begun to increase in February, when 470 black workers were hired to replace white workers who had gone on strike against the Aluminum Ore Company. The use of all-white workforces and using non-white strikebreakers was an often used tactic to break working class solidarity." Sure sounds like the Aluminum Ore Company has some culpability.

  • Pandemics causing death are linked with increases in support for radical political movements, all the way back to the 1918 flu pandemic and the birth of 20th century fascism
  • Something not considered in this paper, Post Viral Syndromes, may also be a factor. Though some acknowledgement of post viral syndromes dates to at least the 1950's, it's only with the COVID19 pandemic that modern medicine has really begun to take a look at this with some seriousness. These PVS's can affect many organs in the body, specifically the nervous system, and including cognition.

  • Venmo/ Paypal Alternatives

I've long been annoyed that everyone, including myself uses Paypal/ Venmo for moving money around. What alternatives do you find useful? Here's a list (https://alternativeto.net/software/venmo/). GNU Taler looks viable (https://taler.net/en/index.html). I would love to have your thoughts!

Edit: Thanks for everyone's input. I really appreciate it. <3

    Sharing EV Charging Station

Is anyone sharing their charging station. Using Plugshare, or some other method. I'm curious how this would work. As of now I'm producing more electrons than I'm using on a grid tied PV system. And my power company has different pricing depending on time of day, as well.

    Fukumushi Sencha - cold brew

I've been exploring/enjoying Sencha. And I came across the idea of cold brewing. It seemed heretical at first, as I was used to precise temperature and time. I've found that I enjoy it very much. https://www.sugimotousa.com/blog/how-to-cold-brew-green-tea-and-why-you-should-do-it#sencha
