What is your favourite game with native Linux port?
  • I think that's the Reveries mod. I got it through flatpak on my laptop and however SteamOS gets it on steam deck.

  • Has Techlore sold out?
  • Tried unlocking the bootloader on my current Samsung after it arrived in the mail. The best I got was it not unlocking after leaving it for a few hours. No screen changes or prompts appearing on screen. Nothing.

  • Why didn't we mass edit our comments to sound like this? We could've burned Reddit.
  • Because they'll probably just ban you for spam then revert all changes via backups I assume they most certainly have.

That, or probably end up IP banning you for editing 2 comments because fuck you.

  • My biggest problem with not using android is the last 3 phones I've had are pretty much as far as I'm aware unsupported by 3rd party ROMs in general. While yes it is my fault for getting phones that are more budget phones, it'd be nice to see support or ROMs focusing on lower end budget phones instead of mostly just the major flagship models. That, and US model sams*ng phones not being the devil to root, if even possible on any US model.

  • [Rumor] Valve may be working on official Waydroid (Android app) support for Steam
  • I see this as a win because if I could ever get Waydroid functioning properly, especially on a Steam Deck, I could more comfortably play the pvz2 mods I wanna play but can't because android is too locked down for me to be able to move files where they need to go.

  • A cool guide to birth commonality
  • Man, fuck the number 22. Absolutely hate that monstrosity.

  • New Crazy Taxi title will be an open-world, massively multiplayer AAA game, according to Sega
  • Well, who else is gonna wait for some passionate fan of the original to play 2 minutes of that game, get a refund, then work on an open source clone of the original that will absolutely be the unofficial official sequel literally all fans wanted?

  • Oddly enough, I saw the base Sims 4 and a couple expansions last time I was at Walmart. They were mixed in with the discount PC gambling, match 3, and other low quality games.

  • In the US, did Amazon kill the mall, is everyone too broke, or a combination of other factors?
  • I'd like to think it was a combination of all the online shopping sites for all your non-groceries that started killing them off.

Why go to a mall to buy that hat you always wanted when it's not only available online on the website of wherever you are planning to go but could be cheaper? That, or just buy it on Am*zon.

That, and I firmly believe people in various first world countries have gotten lazy enough that they'll gladly wait the however long it takes for something to arrive by mail, but spending the time to have to drive somewhere and walk from the parking lot to wherever in the mall the store they want is? Haell Nah! Combine that with inflation (meaning higher gas prices) and you have people not going to malls unless they have to.

It's why surviving US malls usually have something to keep them alive to attract people anymore, I swear. Some sort of gimmick like that one well known mall with the amusement park in it or how the mall near where I live has an aquarium in it (never been, so I don't know how effective it is at attracting people). I don't think the restaurants you'll find in malls are even enough to attract enough people keep malls afloat, either, but I could be dead wrong about that one.

  • Reminder that Giorgia Meloni published anime art of herself to Twitter
  • That image is absolutely cursed. Don't like it at all.

  • Apple Rumored to Be Working on AirPods With Built-in Cameras
  • bringing "in-air" gestures to airpods

I can't wait for stories of people brushing their hair away and the earbuds take that as a sign to raise the volume too high or something equally dumb to happen because they won't be able to differentiate between a normal gesture meant for it and something not meant for it.

Gesture controls are cool, but what happens if they are too sensitive to movement or think gesture xyz is the same as gesture zyx?

  • Are there any good casual/low-stress mobile games that aren't filled with microtransactions?
  • I don't think there's any meta progression as far as I'm aware, but I find Shattered Pixel Dungeon (available on both android and ios) to be a low stress enough game. I suck at it, so I've never gotten much further than the first boss fight, but the game is about running through randomly generated dungeons, going down floor by floor as one of 4 different characters.

  • Minecraft Is Being Ported To Dreamcast And GameCube | Time Extension
  • Depending on how big the game is, I will definitely have to buy some CDs and burn the game to play it on my Dreamcast. Otherwise it's going straight to an emulator.

  • Are there any games you're planning to pick up during the Steam and GOG sales?
  • Last night for $4.99 and $2.99 I got Worms W.M.D. and Worms Armageddon on Steam since I haven't played any worms games outside of Worms 2: Armageddon on xbox360.

Tried Armageddon last night and it was pretty fun. Only gripe I have with it is that I had to plug in a mouse and keyboard to my deck dock.

Have yet to try W.M.D. yet and don't know if it has an offline singleplayer player vs computer mode, but I've seen enough videos of people playing it for me to think I'd have a good time playing it.

  • Redbox's owner files for bankruptcy after repeatedly missing payments and payroll: The company hasn’t paid employees in over a week and owes money to almost everyone in Hollywood ($970M in debt)
  • If I had the space and money to buy a Redbox machine, I would just so I could have one of the coolest storage devices for all my DVDs.

  • Redbox's owner files for bankruptcy after repeatedly missing payments and payroll: The company hasn’t paid employees in over a week and owes money to almost everyone in Hollywood ($970M in debt)
  • That's how I got my favorite CD and Discman, among other things. If I ever get serious about collecting, I'm definitely going through them because I haven't had any problems (that they could prevent) with their services since I started getting things on them this year.

  • What YouTubers did you used to watch back then but not anymore?
  • He's just one I stopped watching put of boredom and disinterest in his content. I don't know if there's any drama with him specifically.

  • If they're gonna go outta business soon, I better keep an eye on this. I could get some real cheap movies, even though I doubt there will be anything I'd watch. I could relive the days where my family was able to keep a physical DVD from back in the ancient times when Netflix was not a streaming service.

Edit: Netflix was a scam artist even back then! Brought this up with my mother and she said Netflix charges us for the price of the DVD!

  • Oh sweet, my old Empire Earth box!
  • Despite only having a few disc drive dependent games, this and the amount of USB ports is why I got the budget desktop I got around a couple years ago. Having a disk drive has been great, especially when I got a few CDs and don't feel like using the old Sony Discman I got because it sometimes just stops after certain songs.

  • Which of the four Avatar nations would you rather live in?
  • Totally depends on timeline and if we're also including TLoK as well. Anytime before the wars began, gotta agree with someone else who said fire nation. During the war? Probably still in the fire nation since you don't really see them getting attacked in their nation much. The fascist kinda lifestyle wouldn't be too cool, but would rather not live in constant fear of being attacked over accidentally saying something wrong. Especially since I'm fairly positive there's no way I'd be a bender.

If we're talking TLoK included, don't remember which natition it's in, but the metal city where they literally open it up like a blooming flower seems like a cool place to live.

  • How does ripping a CD/DVD work exactly? Is it similar to copying or does it leave the CD/DVD unusable?

I've never ripped CDs or DVDs before for any reason and am curious how this works since I have some stuff I wanna see about backing up but am nervous about ruining the disc. I've tried looking this up, but every time I do, I obviously am searching for the wrong thing because I have never found the info I'm looking for.

Bluetooth Help (MX Linux Plasma, kernel 6.1.0-13)

Linux noob. Just got a pair of Skull Candy Push Active XT bluetooth earbuds. They pair just fine with my setup but no sound comes through them. I found many different posts on various forums and nothing helped.

Using the inxi command I pulled some info I think might help, if it's needed. (I don't know if any of this is needed to help fix this issue. I've only been using MX for a little over a week and have never really done a lot of under the hood Linux maintenance before, but am more than willing to learn to fix this issue). If there is sny other information needed, I'm willing to edit this with any of that information, if I can find it.
