Calling it French Fries in the Belgium community is quite the risk you're taking.
And mayonaise of course. Nothing beats mayonaise.

Edit: Pili-Pili is also acceptable
3 0 ReplyHaha, I don't think I've ever tried samurai. Maybe I should give it a try.

I really hate how hard it is to get in Germany.
1 0 ReplyIf you pay for the product and shipping I'll send it. Don't think it is worth it though 😛 Does lemmy already have a snackexchange?

Mayo

3 3 ReplyMaaaan, you can't say that to francophones. C'est sacrilège

Mayonnaise is the only acceptable answer. Everyone else is lying to themselves
9 0 ReplyI concur
2 0 ReplyYeah, but then you'd have to eat mayonnaise, which tastes like how I imagine goblin cum tastes.
1 0 ReplyI think there's a clear difference between Belgian mayo vs anywhere else in the world.

I tried tartar sauce last time and it's now my new favorite
7 0 ReplyThe most spicy available, usually samourai but my local friture has a lovely special spicy american sauce
6 0 ReplyI got introduced to that while I was over there and I love it. Samouraj sauce is the bomb.

Mayonaise, nothing else than home made mayonaise
5 0 ReplySorry to that one guy who posted about using some kind of vinegar on his fries but lemmy.world had to roll back and we lost 30 minutes of comments/posts.

3 0 ReplyUtah Fry Sauce
50% Ketchup
50% Mayo
. . . I'll show myself out...
3 0 ReplyI have to admit I really like joppie sauce when I'm going for fries, but I regularly switch it up depending on what I'm looking for, so regular ketchup, samurai or andalouse all get their share.
3 0 ReplyWhat is a samurai sauce?
3 0 ReplyIs it what you get when you milk a samurai?
4 0 ReplyDon't tell him about mammoetsaus, people

It's a spicy sauce. Mayonnaise-based but with chillies.

3 0 ReplyIf I had to rank them:
-
Mayonaise
-
Tomato ketchup
-
Béarnaise sauce
-
Tartar sauce (which is actually based on mayonaise)
...
- Everything else

I know this is for Belgians but Malt Vinegar simply cannot be beat
2 0 ReplyI mean, look into the insane amount of sauces available. Even if you say it can't be beat you could try them all and discover things you can add to what you already like. Most Belgians don't just stick to one sauce.

"Hamburger sauce." Equal parts Mayo, ketchup, and mustard.
2 0 ReplyRecently, I've discovered gravy and cheese curds, courtesy of our (USA) lovely northern neighbors. Seriously, poutine is fuckin' bangin'!
2 0 ReplyThat looks greasy as hell. I would try it! I heard of Poutine before but I thought it was a combination of a russian dictator and a french prostitute

Seems like todays winner is Mayonnaise. That's like the color grey of Sauces but ok [email protected], I still like you
2 0 ReplyMayo, though I've dabbled in ketchup and curry ketchup as well, especially mixed with mayo.
Unless it's friet stoofvlees, the only acceptable answer is mayo.
2 0 ReplyI switch it up, I like tartar, mayonnaise, samurai, pickles
2 0 Reply"Pommes Schranke", mayonnaise and ketchup.

https://live.staticflickr.com/1682/23900494131_1ee4a7bfe7.jpgPersonally I would never mix sauces. IMO you have to make a choice ;-)
2 0 ReplyThat's a sad amount of sauce. I can still see fries :D
But you haven't tried "frit special" yet - Mayo/Ketchup/Onion?
4 0 ReplyIt's called that because it looks vaguely like this.
1 0 ReplyI love it.
Interestingly it tastes much better like this than a Single premixed sauce made from mayo and ketchup.
