Which upcoming anime are you most looking forward to?
This includes anime that has been announced, as well as manga series that have yet to have an announcement, but definitely will have one sooner or later.
Personally, the top three right now are Apothecary Diaries (predicted to release around Oct 2023. highly, highly recommend), Sakamoto Days and Dandadan
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and Delicious in Dungeon for me. Both manga are outstanding fantasy that aren't isekai and I think will translate really well to being animated.
has the studio for OPM 3 been announced yet? I hope we don't see a retreading of season 2, but it'll be tough under any circumstances to live up to the insane level of the animation work in the first season.
The next season of Mushoku Tensei / Jobless Reincarnation.
I've watched the series three times. The world-building and storytelling are exceptional.
This year I haven't felt the interest / captivating anymore, but I'm hoping the interest will return once the third season finishes airing, or when I start rewatching it for it.
On rewatches I'm skipping the longer flashback scene. I find it very unfitting.
It's weird how much of a hit-or-miss MT is. I love it too; people call it "the grandfather of isekai" (that's only partially true), but it's from a more civilised time, when protags didn't have a [INSERT YOURSELF HERE] sign on their necks.
Fair but spoilerless warning, if you don't follow the manga, LN or WN: it'll likely start with an event that a lot of people feel rather meh with. But it's mostly a plot device.
I really loved the first season, but never got around to watching the second season. I feel like the manga was loosing steam too, but maybe that was just me losing interest. I hope you get it, though.
Absolutely agree with this. I just started reading it out of boredom and it sounded ok based on the synopsis I read... well it was nothing like what I pictured and I was hooked immediately. Been binging ever since.
Waiting for the new season of Mushoku Tensei. After watching the first season I decided to read the novels which was an amazing experience. The story shifts its focus, but it is still as interesting as it was in the beggining.
I'm really looking forward to Solo Leveling finally being adapted mainly. Even more so I am looking for the new season of Spice and Wolf to finally come out after waiting an eternity!
I'm excited for The 100 Girlfriends who really really really really really love you adaptation. I've been following the manga for ~1.5 years and it'll be a hoot if done justice.
I had to check the upcoming list for next season since I haven't been following news of the upcoming season much, and I didn't realize Small Senpai is getting adapted and also didn't realize Ryza's anime was coming so soon after being announced. So I guess I'd say those two are the ones I'm looking forward too the most for now lol.
I've honestly been thinking this season is way too stacked to the point I'm constantly behind (Demon, Slayer, Oshi no Ko, Dr. Stone, Tengoku Daimakyo, Tonikaku Kawaii, Insomniacs after School, Dead Mount Death Play just to name a few I find noteworthy).
Oshi no Ko just isn't my cup of tea, though I did love Kaguya-sama, they are just very different things. I am not up to date on Dr. Stone, ToniKawa, Smartphone or Kuma, so those are just going in the "later" pile for now until I can catch up on them. I am watching and really liking Insomniacs. Konosuba Explosion has been about what I expected (fine, but just not as good as the main story). Also Yuri Job has been alright. It just feels like last few seasons had at least one thing every day that was interesting to me, less so right now.
Overall I am basically watching 3 shows this season (of maybe 5 or 6 I am interested in including S2s and such) vs 16 in Winter 2023, 12 in Fall 2022, 16 in Summer 2022... It just seems that this season overall has less that interests me. I am all about SoL and RomComs... and I have been pretty spoiled for the past couple years, haha.
I know the 2nd season just ended, but I can't wait for s3 of to your eternity. I felt like I was watching Shakespeare's retelling of the life of Jesus reincarnated as an anime lol. I was kinda tripping for a decent portion of s2 and it was really good 😅
