I setup my Framework 13 DIY !

My Framework 13 Laptop is now operational =) I created this quick little note/write-up with some pics if anyone is interested in checking out the setup.

I like the Framework idea, looking forward when they are available in my region.
It was fun to set mine up! And getting Linux running was a breeze.
I got mine about a month ago and love it. Congrats! Give us another review after you've used it for a bit.
- Been using mine about a month now. I love everything about it apart from:
  
  Speaker, these are shocking.
  
  Battery is so so, luckily it's 99% of it's usage is around the house so i'm close to chargers
  
  Wish there was an OLED screen option, it's sharp and bright but the contrast is blah.
  
  Keyboard feels a tiny bit cheap but it's great to use.
  
  Fan, can be a bit reluctant to spin down.
  
  Overall i'm really happy with the purchase and getting some good use out of it.
  
  I agree, the speakers are a bit underwhelming. But, I don't use my laptop for consuming a bunch of media, I have TVs and radios/speakers for that. I mostly use it to watch the occasional youtube video when trying to sort something out so sound quality isn't as important.
  
  I quite like the screen, but I see what you're saying. Similar to the speakers, the lack of contrast isn't a big deal to me. If I were watching a lot of movies or playing games that would probably be a real bummer. For scrolling the web, writing, and checking email it is more than adequate.
  
  Glad you are enjoying it otherwise! Perhaps they'll offer upgraded screens and speakers in the future, being repairable and all....

  I have to agree with the speaker thing. I upgraded to the 80db speakers, and TBH I can't notice a difference at all. I suppose the new speakers as slightly better, but without a side-by-side comparison, it just feels like both are bad.
  
  Other than the speakers and not-excellent battery (and the missing BIOS update issue), I love my 2 frameworks and I'm happy to keep using it.
@shellsharks why are people angry at Ubuntu?
- I got some comments like this - https://floss.social/@LovesTha/110856831841070210. Also some snap and Unity complaints. I don’t have anything against Ubuntu, in fact I’ve always enjoyed using it in the past. Fedora has been nice so far though.

  Seriously though. Ubuntu hasn't been using Unity as a desktop in a while. Not trying to make fun of you here just wanted to let you know.
- Personally I don't like snaps. I know I can just uninstall snaps when I install Ubuntu but... then why not just install something else you prefer? :)
