In an interview with Orbit about sustainability, John Ternus, senior VP of hardware engineering at Apple, said they want to focus on making sure customers have easy...
The Apple argument is ridiculous. They are making phones for how many years? Over 10. Yet, their engineers have not figured out a solution to have a removable battery and have it waterproof? Give me a break. Apple is greedy as fuck, but that's not a news.
Apple is making the wrong argument here. They already make an external battery pack that attaches magnetically. They also already offer battery replacement by a tech through service. They should be pointing at that, rather than saying they can’t figure out a way to redesign their phone.
I’m honestly amazed their PR people couldn’t spin it better. Truth be told, if it gets legislated then they’ll figure out a way to do it, or will make some design compromises. It won’t be the end of the world.
Yes and it is super risky and people will get killed. We have heard all the lies. They make up whatever suits them at the moment. Louis Rossmann can tell you one... perhaps even two stories about Apples bullshit.
Yes, failure points, like longevity due to user replaceable batteries meaning the phone could be kept and used longer. That's just a failure point when you consider the end goal of giving people reasons to buy new phones more frequently than they otherwise would.
Bullshit. My lgg3 is sitting right here next to me on the headboard, serving me quite well as an alarm clock, white noise generator (when needed), and nighttime notepad.
The only thing that failed on it is the sd card slot after it got dropped for the twentieth odd time.
