Im not sure I understand the meme but I hate my system76 and looking for the true Linux Laptop..
The meme asserts that people saying "system76 enjoyers got dropped" are in fact the people that got dropped, because system76 is great.
Framework or Tuxedo Laptops
my previous laptop was a tuxedo.
Was not very happy with it. (build quality not very good and the hardware support was not as 100% linux compatible as they claim).
At least their support is very good
get a framework. I cannot recommend it enough, I've had mine six months and it's been an absolute dream. (other than the touchpad breaking out of nowhere a week ago,, but they've already replaced it free of charge so that's not such a big deal imo)
Sorry, I think I'm lacking context here. What is the problem with system76? A cursory search for problems with system76 tells me there are some Nvidia driver problems, but that's surely not unique, right?
I don't have experience with their hardware but I've been dailying pop os for about five years and have generally had no problems.

My Pangolin has a touchpad that randomly stops working after 5-10m and now the whole laptop also randomly grinds to a halt completely unrelated. Support told me to reconnect the touchpad myself but i have too much shit to do already..
I like them for Pop!_OS but I have that installed on a Framework
If you want to be environmentally friendly or don't have much money, get a used laptop. If you want the best performance, get a gaming laptop. If you want Linux but don't enjoy messing with computers, or want a decently repairable laptop for a decent price, or just want to support them, get a system76 laptop. If you want very easy repairability or to support the general right to repair, get a framework laptop.
They all have their own niche, even when you want to install Linux.
I'm currently ordering a used Chromebook to try to install Tiny11 on it. If it doesn't work, I'm only out fifty dollars plus shipping.
I got a $40 used chromebook (this model), installed arch + xfce and had a great experience using it as a travel laptop. Some things that have worked well on it:
- steam
- portal 1
- half life 1 and 2
- celeste
- minecraft with optimization mods (60 fps!)
- trackmania nations forever (only on the smaller maps - it was running through proton so it was slow)
- blender (even with editing fairly complex models actually, but rendering outside of workbench was slow)
- freecad
- musescore
its kinda fallen apart now, idk if its the os or the hardware, probably the os but it fails to boot 3/4 of the time and the headphone jack doesn't really work, imma try to reinstall soon
