Deniable collusion and price fixing as a service is their business model.
Of course they did... highly unlikely they actually get punished, though. And the AI has nothing to do with it...
- Yeah, I does feel like "algorithm" is doing a lot of heavy lifting for the "coordinate pricing between rental properties" bit.
- ... cause "AI" doesn't exist... It's just fuel for clickbait and grifters. You don't need Wall-E to fix prices ffs.
I guess they gotta profit from deprivation and exploitation the old fashioned way... Price fixing informally, politically, etc.
