US soldier who fled to North Korea was facing disciplinary action after time in South Korean prison
U.S. officials say an American soldier who fled across the heavily armed border from South Korea into North Korea had served nearly two months in prison and was released.
He was charged with assault and held in a South Korean prison. To get away from discipline in the USA, he ran across the border into North Korea.
Doesn’t seem like a smart move. The last American held in North Korea came home in a coma and died shortly thereafter
